I really love the concept! This game feels like it would be awesome for speedrunning! The character was a little slippery so I had trouble placing blocks anywhere but down, but other than that I had a good time! I thought the background being a deadzone for your power was very intuitively conveyed! Just wish it had gamepad support!
Very impressed. Just some quality of life issues in the controls and environment like friction, platform visuals, block placements, pacing of the map, and block regen needs to be quicker for elite speedrun schmovement! So much potential!
The graphics in the game are cute, the music really hooked me, it's very gentle and beautiful. It's a pity there is no pause function. The mechanics with the block are very cool, but requires improvements in the form of some kind of particulars, their limitations, etc.
Thanks for the feedback! We'll definitely be taking it into consideration
Really nice mechanic, it's a really smart take on a platformer! I would've maybe liked to place it using the mouse - I felt like it wasn't much use unless you jumped straight up (maybe I'm just bad!) Nice take on the theme, good job!
There's actually a small gameplay video on the game page to showcase how the block mechanic can be used, if you're interested. Either way, thanks so much for the kind words and trying it out!
I liked the block placing mechanic. It made it feel like I had more liberty in deciding how I wanted to complete the level
Thanks! That was one of the biggest reasons we built the game around that mechanic
I felt like I got far which was good, but my run ended in me falling and getting stuck on a corner :(
That sucks :( We only realized how to fix that bug an hour after submissions closed unfortunately, but I'm glad you got to experience a lot of the game before it happened to you
EDIT: Just saw your playthrough of the game, and surprisingly, the screenshots actually aren't concept art! They're later section of the game, but it's pretty tricky to make it that far
Really love the block mechanic, and how many shortcuts you can find, but I didn't know I couldn't place blocks on the dirt tiles, but thankfully I figured it out before quitting lol. But overall, I really enjoyed it!
Thanks! A lot of time went into making sure that even though it was a Foddian platformer, you could still "explore" as many routes as possible on the map.
This game is very cute. I like the 6 blocks you can place to help you get up as well. at first I didn't know there was specific spots you couldn't place blocks and just thought the game mechanic broke but I did figure it out in the end. I played for about 20 minutes before rage quitting. nice job
Yeah we probably could have done a more in depth tutorial/instructions. Thanks for trying it out, its super appreciated :)
