How does your game fit the theme "Unconventional Means"?
The game is a Top Down Shooter where, rather than shooting straight at the enemy, you must shoot the walls and kill the enemies with the rebound of the projectiles as they return to you.

I felt like the charm of the game was quickly lost for me once I discovered the main mechanic was very hard to pull off. I understand that you wanted the bullets to return to you when they hit the wall but this makes it much harder to hit the enemy than if they reflected off the wall. There were also a couple times where the bullet passed through the enemy without dealing damage. Maybe if you continue this game after the jam it would be a good idea to shrink the size of the room so the bullets bounce around more. I really liked the art though, it has a very neon vibe to it.
Yeah, overall we definitely made the game a but more challenging than we hoped and we eventually want to make the enemies larger and easier to hit. As for the shots missing that was probably due to the shots being the wrong color which we forgot to add in the tutorial. Yellow enemies can be hit by any projectile but once the other colored ones start showing up you have to bounce the projectiles off of the corresponding colored block. It’s nice to hear you enjoyed the art! I really enjoyed making this game so thanks for setting up the jam and thanks for the feedback!
I’m not sure if this is just a me problem but the way bullets bounce off walls seems to be completely random and basically makes this game completely RNG based. It doesn’t affect the difficulty too bad but it does diminish how fun this game could be. Also when firing bullets before they deflect of walls they move slower than after being deflected. The speed of bullets in this state should be increased by at least 2 times.
This is otherwise a pretty well put together top down shooter.
when the bullets bounce off the walls their direction is actually based off of your positioning. They will come straight in your direction no matter what. As for the speed before bouncing, we did that on purpose to allow people to line up the shot however many people are saying it’s much too slow so that piece will most likely be changed. You guys made a good game! Visual are looking cool. The sounds - sounds (lol, what). Gameplay fits the theme. And i liked restriction of 3 bullets, cause at start i thinked: "Nah, i'm gonna spam bullets".
Maybe bullets can fly faster.
At first I did not understand, but little by little I found the mechanics. The game looks beautiful (The post processed helps a lot) it's fun, I only reached wave 7, because then they all cornered me and I died ... I like that when I touch a color the bullet transforms and defeats the enemies of that color.

I liked the mechanic, but the powerup doesn't helps, and the shoot hitboxes should be much bigger, since its quite stressing. But i like the shots recovering stuff.

Awesome concept, and fun to play. Really well done. Once I figured out that the bullets always bounce toward where I am when they rebound, I was able to get creative and find ways to lure enemies into my shots. I feel like I want to play more of this one, really well done.

cool take on the theme! I really dig this idea! It took me a while to hit enemy, even when punched, and it was made even more hard when you had to rebound the bullets against the correct color (which sometimes were hard to tell which color was which). I would suggest making the stun time a tad longer and removing the color aspect, or at least hold off on that until later waves to increase difficulty. Overall, good job!

Absolutely stunning. The visuals felt very refined and the music was interesting to listen to. I enjoyed the challenge of figuring out how to rebound the projectiles to hit the enemies. Breathtaking work.

Really cool idea to bounce things off the wall to get the enemy! I only wish the projectiles were faster when shooting and the fire rate was a little quicker, but I imagine those are only minor fixes.
