How does your game fit the theme "Unconventional Means"?
Its a platformer where the player has no direct character control and can only place portals to change the path of the character and guide him to the end.

Interesting levels, well thought out though I am not that quick with portal placing so I wasn't very good at them. I have to ask, did you make this music yourself?
Yes we made it during the jam.
I believe our musician, Arthur, made it in audacity. I could be wrong. If you want the original files I can ask him for them.
Cool idea, nice level design. I loved the audio as well. Congratz
Thanks for all the support!
I like portals, this was fun. Good job!
Glad you enjoyed! Thanks for playing :D
This is a great game! The art and music is really good, and the concept overall works really well! I think the difficulty of the game is pretty good, but I get kinda stuck on levels that have a very early way to die in them, since it's hard to time the placement when the level restarts. Part of me likes not having to press an extra button to restart when you die, but maybe it might make those situations easier to deal with. Or maybe it might just be good to not have deaths be too early. Still, difficulty is always subjective, so whatever works best!
Awesome job on the game y'all!
Thank you for the generous review!
As for those levels that need quick timing and placing of a portal to not die immediately, I agree with you, its perhaps pretty frustrating. Maybe at the beginning there should just always be a wall to prevent the player from walking off the edge.
nice game!
Thanks!
Really cool game !!
You got my rating :)
😊
Pretty nice game you have here! I really liked the music a lot
Thanks for playing! I'm glad you enjoyed the music!
Really really good puzzle game. Level 8 felt a tiny bit unfair because unless I was missing something you needed to have very fast reflexes, but that was the only time I felt like it was unfair. Great job!
Thank you for the feedback! You weren't missing something for level 8, we made the timing a bit tight and we didn't have time for that many people to playtest, so most of the playtesting ended up being ourselves, so it was hard to gauge the difficulty and frustration of each level. I'm glad you enjoyed the game overall though, thank you for playing!
Really liked the art in this -cool idea too! Nice work! :D
Thanks for playing! I'm glad you enjoyed it!
This is pretty fun. I like the idea, But I feel like the challenge came less from puzzles, and more from "how fast can you place the portals." I wish that either you could have multiple sets of portals open at once, or slightly decrease the movement speed of the player. But overall, Nice Job.
Thank you for your feedback, I definitely understand where you are coming from. Perhaps player speed could be adjustable or yeah multiple portals could have been used. The thing with multiple portals at once is it makes the controls slightly less intuitive than with just one portal.
Another idea perhaps is a slowdown mechanic where the player can move slower for a few seconds at a time to give them more time to think and figure out the puzzle while still having the time constraint of the player moving forward.
Great Job! I loved the music and art, the gameplay is also pretty unique. Good work
Thanks for playing!
Interesting game, although it was almost impossible for me to play, because I was playing tuchpad. I think it is a really interesting reflective game with relaxing gameplay, thanks to the music in the game you can spend a lot of time.
Yeah it is indeed quite hard for touchpad but we couldn’t find a way to fix it, sorry about that. Thank you for playing though!
It reminded me of old games like Commandos, where you had to think carefully about what action to take and when. The soundtrack went straight from the ear to the heart. Good job!
Yes exactly! We were going for more of a puzzle game rather than a platformer. I’m glad you enjoyed the game and the music.
The sprites look very clean and adding a timing requirement to a puzzle game is pretty interesting. Some of the levels had some really narrow timing windows but overall it's pretty great!
Thanks for the feedback! I know some of the levels can get frustrating because of how narrow the timing window is, but I felt it was part of the mechanics of the game.

Overall, a pretty charming and clever puzzle game!
Great feedback, we should have spent more time thinking about player experience and frustration. Maybe we could have had the character speed be adjustable.
Really good game! The graphics and audio were great, and the game mechanic was not only unique and a good response to the theme, but it was also pretty fun. While things felt a bit repetitive during the first couple levels, the puzzles got quite interesting and challenging real quickly. Overall, I'd say I really liked this game. Well done!
Thank you so much for the kind review! Made our day to see people enjoying the game.
I think this is pretty creative! I think the main portal mechanic needs some tweaking and maybe the player could move a bit slower but overall a nicely polished title!
Thanks for the feedback and thank you for playing!
In terms of the portal mechanic, what specifically do you recommend changing?
I found it inconsistent at times to plonk a portal on top of the player to teleport them (there were many circumstances where I needed to do this). Granted the portals a large hitbox might alleviate this? Not too sure though.
Ah I see, that makes sense. The thing with the portals is we wanted to make it so the player actually had to go in the front of the portal to teleport, but this perhaps was not communicated well through the visuals.
Pretty cool game, but as also said from the title not very original, good idea though!! Great job!
