How does your game fit the theme "Unconventional Means"?
Instead of writing an essay yourself, you hire your monkeys to write it for you

Really fun idea, and well executed! I would have liked more visual indication on the thought bubble whether it was correct or not, I only noticed the score in the upper right on my second go. Also, if that was Easy Mode I don't want to imagine what Hard Mode was. The monkeys looked a bit blurry, did you set the image filter mode to Point?
Gahhh, yeah I forgot. Will likely make a 1.1 version addressing some complaints and adding music once voting ends.
Very fun, I was able to beat easy mode. Cool jam game!
Fun at times, but feels a bit too luck-based, and the word associations seem rather arbitrary. For example, why are the words "plot" and "gothic" not related to history?
Cool monkeys, I really liked the idea. But this gameplay i don't like, sorry. No sounds, what is sad.
You know, it could be a cool game on mobile devices if you continue work on monkeys.

Overall, a really funny concept and nice game
It's a cool idea for the theme! But I found it too difficult. I beat the first and second levels with difficulty, but the last one seems to be impossible.
I like da monkey
Really liked the game, could have used a restsrt button, but i gess im just bad at games lmao
Do you mean while ingame? Or just when you fail?
I meant ingame.
Simple and cool.
Good job man!
What a story! I actually had a good laugh when reading it. There is a little issue that I don't know if it's intentional but you can choose more then once option if you are fast enough, so even if you fail you can choose one of the other two words and there will be a 50% chance instead of losing 1 point you'll stay even. Although if you fail you lose 2 points instead of 1 so I don't know if it's worth taking the risk.
Choosing more than one option is 100% intentional
Nice job! It would be cool if a restart exists. But I really liked that you have story. I missed the sound. Great work! Congrats! Liked the monkeys! ^^
Nice concept but just like real life I keep failing the class qq
Quite a pleasant game.
Congrats on finishing your first jam! That's no small feat!
I think the round timer is a bit too long and the words didn't change fast enough, but the concept is solid!
Yeah, there is a bit of downtime in rounds.
it would be cool if there was some sort of feature where an essay template is filled with the words you chose, sort of like mad libs
Funnily enough one of my original concepts was dragging words into a mad libs type concept, but it didn't fit well with the theme imo
The big amount of text is a big no no for many people. It could make them run away.
it is a good idea for an idle game, where you buy more monkes, then you train them, then you buy monkes to train them, and train them to train monkes, and you sell more and more books, and you still pick up ideas, but you train monkeys to do it for you
The principal idea is good, but the mechanic is repetitive and slow.
I mostly intended for the text to add a bit of lore and humor, but I fully understand your criticism. The main way I did want to switch up the gameplay and change bias, but ran out of time to add any more meaningful changes to make the core loop more engaging.

Really cute game! i like it! maybe some sound would be good but it's good overall
Yeah, I initially planned to have a typewriter sound effect but it was 4am and I had to submit quickly so I didnt crash
Great game, the art style is neat, and the introductory description was incredibly funny!
However I found it very difficult and finished with Score of -18 points. I couldn't properly figure out which words belonged to which essay.
Maybe some more visual feedback (or an explanation of the visual feedback I was getting) would maybe have helped me win!
It is a game that uses a bit of RNG definitely. I didn't win every time in my playtesting either.
