Very pretty game with a good visuals, music, and story! Good use of theme too, switching between dimensions to find the objects needed to start the ritual. Love the attention to detail, especially with the SFX! Although I feel the game lacks that "in a cycle" aspect.
I will say that space for jump is a bit awkward, my hands want to hover over WASD and IJKL since those keys are needed and feels most natural. I found it weird to pivot my thumb and press the space key, but that may just be me or depend on keyboard size lol! Personally would have have made J jump, but I digress. There are a few other minor bugs but that's to be expected for this short of a jam! Awesome work lads, especially for only 48 hours!!! :D
Thank you! To be completely honest we didn't even see the second theme until we were voting on other games and was like hmm, what's this? haha. But I'm glad you enjoyed! Since I'm mainly a composer and sound designer a lot of the immersion I find is from the audio so I'm glad to hear you enjoyed and noticed the smaller details <3
I can see jump being better on another button. Before we added the interact and attack controls were still up in the air then we realized, oh, you really don't need the mouse for this game! lul
Beautiful entry, especially for the short time! Love the graphics, puzzle design, music. Also those little details like different step sounds depending on the surface you're walking on :3
Good job!
Thanks so much!
Me and Wispy both were a bit baffled ourselves by how much we managed to implement in the short time period.
I think the reason mainly was sticking to what we knew during the creation of the game..
And most importantly, in the very beginning we had a small briefing where we discussed what the concept should be (Hunting relics to complete a ritual, that allows us to fight a boss) And step 2 of the concept briefing was about scoping (Considering the time constraint, we should keep the amount of relics to just 2, and one boss), nothing more, nothing less.
That way we could focus on the production close to 100% and get the pieces needed together.
I myself must say, I'm impressed by how efficient Wispy is, a big thanks to her!
This jam was an absolute blast!
<3
Yes, you did very well! I'm impressed! (I should take a leaf out of your book too - I usually work solo and have <1 day due to not having much weekend time to dedicate to jamming, and sometimes I overdo the concept) XD
Thank you! I'm glad to hear you liked the ideas and design! I love games that have a bit of everything (puzzle, action, story, etc.) and while we didn't get to have toooo much of each I'm glad you liked the idea of it. Big thanks to Pedry too for implementing all my little audio requests like the footsteps and the torch volume as you get farther and closer.
Definitely!!
Yeah, those little details just add so much to the polish - simple idea, yet very effective~ ^_^
I really liked this game overall. I enjoyed the atmosphere. I beat the boss and then didn’t know what to do after, but up to that point it was really well put together
Thanks! We just barely ran out of time to make some kind of ending scene but glad to hear you enjoyed what we had :D
