Use of the limitation
Health is a tool is represented by your octopus's legs. the goal is to create babies (and gain score), but in doing so you lose a leg. You can also lose legs, and thus the opportunity to score by hitting sharks. Your speed is also determined by your legs. Once you have run out of legs, the game is over!

Quite an impressive setup considering you only had 3 days, and wow only your second Unity game!! It's fun swimming around looking for octopi and all the fish swimming around look quite nice. All in all a pretty fun little entry, and super well done!

Thank you very much! Really appreciate that :)

SUCH a cute use of the limitation. Don't sell yourself short! I thought this game was great, I especially loved the composition of the level and the premise :)

Thank you very much PixelPax :)

There's some very awkward hitboxes around the ship, spent a while getting stuck on seemingly nothing. Cute little game though, don't see much 3D in this jam

Developer

Sorry about that, next time I will work on hitboxes. Thank you for your kind words though :)

Really smart way of using the limitation! Yeah like other people said the movement was a little off. Though I will say that it almost added to the experience reminded me of games like octodad and surgeon sim where the controls are purposely hard tho a way to reverse next time please lol.

I was expecting the sharks to come after me when I was close. But if this is just your second time using the engine I get why they dont. But I think you should of made their patrols around some of the octopus faster so it would of made it like a skill challenge to get to the octopus without getting hit.

Really Enjoyed this.

Thank you, I really appreciate all of your kind words and feedback. I would love to pretend that the movement was deliberately off, but I just wasn't very good at it haha. However, being compared positely to those games is nice :). Yeah, exactly, As I get better and more confident with coding and Unity I will definitely be able to program the sharks chasing, but for now that was the best I could do. Good point, I could've increased shark speed to make it more difficult, just genuinely didn't consider that. Thank you :)

Control is strange, but for that short game it is funny

Developer

Thank you, I can hopefully get better at movement in the future :)

My boy just wants some octussy

the movement needs some less tank controls

Developer

Haha, thanks, I can try to improve movement in the future :)

Liked the presentation for the most part. The control scheme was awkward, but the fact that it was so bad made the experience enjoyable, kinda like QWOP in a way.

Developer

Thank you! I can try and work on the movement in the future, but I'm glad you liked it haha
