Woah, this is a ton of content for a game jam. Sucking enemy juice felt so awesome, I felt like a real vampire sucking them dry!

I thought the controls were pretty tight once I got used to them, and the movement and attack patterns worked well together.

Composition of the cover image was cool too.

The tutorial was nice to have and had it's own very spooky feel to it. All around great work!

im going to be real, i walked into this game thinking it was going to be pretty bad. And for the first 5 minutes i thought it was. but then i started playing it more and realized that this game is a work of genius. the movement feels really bad when you start but later on you can use it to your advantage to get the most insane level skips of all time. the lore of this game is very heartfelt and moving, with bill being one of the best video game characters i have ever seen and with his redemption arc at the very end. lastly, the soundtrack was amazing, it really got me feeling i was morbius(the vampire).

thank you TheWillgamer for making this amazing game.

in all honesty tho, this was the most fun game in the jam I've played so far.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for enjoying the game! I'm glad you found the level skips and other little things like that fun :). Building the levels was such a treat!  I'm glad it made you FEEL like morbius(the vampire) i put a little morb in every note! Lastly i expect a billl movie to be releasing SOON once Sony comes to my emails to get it set up, it's' the only logical conclusion.

(But actually lastly thanks a ton for playing it! Brings me tons of joy to know you found fun in it! ^U^)

The game is actually really fun! Although the style is quite limited, I actually kinda like it also

Developer

Thanks! I was responsible for everything but the primary coding so it was really hard to get everything right, neither of us are much of artists but I'm glad you still found a charm with it! ^u^ thanks for playing and havin fun!

Really enjoy fps games like this but the controlls are way too floaty to be making jumps like that, also the tutorial room could use a window because I cant see anything

Developer (1 edit)

Yea sorry the room was lit properly but we had a last minute bug that just turned off all the lights in it for some reason but only in the version with the menu lol, also duley noted! It was hard to tell since I was the only one play testing it I just sorta got used to it so changing it felt awkward to me at that point but if I ever patch the game we'll try and implement a bit more air control! Our only solution we had for a quick fix at the time was changing acceleration but that took away a lot of the platformings weight, so hopefully we can find some way to mend that. Once again thanks for the feed back! ^-^

I think you could do with some checkpoints, and the air movement can feel finnicky at times, but overall you guys did an amazing job (especially given the time constraint!)

Nothing feels cooler than sliding under a door and jumping platform to platform gunning down goblins, haha.

Developer(+1)

Tnx I appreciate it :D

I think your game was very dope as well... really nice atmosphere and good use of parallax. That room with the 4 tiny guys running at you was scary af. I think the only things your game needs are better visibility for the platforms (they sometimes blended with the background even with the flashlight shining on them) and maybe a slightly less awkward control scheme (such as shaking your mouse to charge your flashlight instead of going back and forth between the keyboard). But overall, great concept and even better execution!

Thank you, the feedback means a lot to me!

There's a bug on WebGL where sometimes the lights don't render correctly, so normally there would be a lot better visibility- I'm hoping to get that fixed ASAP!

Developer(+1)

Thanks a ton! We wanted to add checkpoint but we never quite got around it, but you're def right it would help a lot especially on first run throughs while players get comfortable. Thanks for the feed back and thanks for playing our game! ^u^
