We talked on discord so I don't have anything else to say. Good submission though!
Nice work. Slime blades feel great. It would be nice to control the duration of the attack though! Gives the player more agency in controlling their mass/sacrifice. Also, player can disappear behind obstacles making some encounters/deaths frustrating.
Great game! Combat is fun, especially with blades, and the little cutscenes that play at the start of each level were really cute and charming.
I really like the 2d sprites in the 3d world with the simple shading and bold outlines - reminded me of Paper Mario in a very good way :)
My only real complaint is that there didn't seem to be much reason to stay large - the slow movement with the large map size was frustrating, and I found that spamming the blades as soon as I could was faster than waiting to get large for more power. Maybe if size tied in to health somehow?
Had a great time playing :)
A nice and peaceful experience, once you get the combat down! My only suggestion is to make it more obvious that the player has a "super attack" that drains their mass - I didn't see it in the tutorial text. Also, there does not seem to be a way to stop the "super attack" after you start it - I don't want to waste all my mass, just some! Overall a very fun little slime combat game. Well done!
The more peaceful feel is a good change of pace compared to some of the other games (mine included).
There were some little things that threw me off, like how dodging works. If the invulnerability time was a bit longer, I think it would be better. It is also super easy to beat enemies when hiding behind a fence. Maybe a raycast to check if you can hit the foes?
I like the sound, and how it goes with gameplay well. Overall, I enjoyed the game
Nice idea of having to damage enemies to get stronger. Liked the artstyle.
But there are some problems:
- A smaller map size would be great. For example third level was the best, because it was more linear and enemies were near one another. In the first two you would have to follow the arrow to kill enemies one by one which got old pretty quickly. So making maps smaller or more linear and having enemies at the same place to be more than one would be more fun in my eyes.
- Please don't make me rewatch the cutscene everytime I die.
- And I think when you become very large speed is too slow. Again in smaller maps it wouldn't be a problem, but in the first map it took too long to get to the enemies.
- And encountered a bug on lever 3, where enemy just dissapeared and it didn't count as a kill, so had to restart a level.
Overall good game, will play more, when you add more levels.
That's a really nice submission, there are a lot of good mechanics and the art is sooo good, amazing job for a three days' work, it is a bit too difficult to finish, but I was very impressed regardless.
Best of luck, I'd appreciate it if you try and rate my submission as well.
The game is a masterpiece. It has everything, unique combat, story and most importantly fun
Bugs:
Second level enemy spawned where I could not go (invisible walls)
Improvments:
Progress bar is too small, make it bigger
More enemies (quantity)
