Wow I suck hard on it :D It was kinda fun to analyze where exactly I failed & why and where I need to jump a bit longer or make a slower/faster dash; but yeah, checkpoints would be nice as others have stated. I actually kinda liked the "Ice skate" feeling because it's a slime, so it kinda makes sense (though "Sticky to everything" could make sense as well). Graphics & dialogue are happily reminiscent of the Flash games era, but a couple more sounds here and there or a reeeeally simple music loop would be nice. Overall nice job!

Thanks for playing! I also like the extra challenge of the slidiness but I'm alone in that lol. My brother has done a lot of work since uploading on the player controller to make it tighter and less slidy (but still a lil slidy). We're adding more levels and checkpoints as well.

Wow, this is the dark souls of 2D slime plattformers.
I mean, it's definitely enjoyable but I got stuck pretty early on so unfortunately I didn't get to finish it.
Some kind of checkpoint would be great.
Keep it up!

checkpoints are on the way!

Very cool platfomer, too hard

I got stuck on the second level, this is way too hard for me! Amazing nonetheless, the controls feel really good, and I had a ton of fun. I'd say maybe make the death animation shorter so that the player can try again quicker, this was the only frustrating part for me.

Well done!

Developer

checkpoints and/or shorter death is on the list! Thanks for playing :)

Didn't get very far through the first level, controls felt a bit too goopy (heheh) without a checkpoint system to keep some progress. But the graphics are nice, the concept of a poisonous superior is great and in general everything felt like it fit in together. Good effort!

Developer

definitely needs checkpoints :)

Spent 15 minutes on the first level, about 40 mins on the second, and then like 5 on the third.

This one was a lot of fun, nice take on the theme too! Nice art with it as well, really good game all around!

Only change I would consider is the movement feels slipp

You're a legend! Lol yeah 3rd level is way too short, will be updating it eventually and also with some more beginner friendly levels.

Way too tough for the limited time that most jammers have to play something. Nice graphics tho. Check out my live review at https://www.twitch.tv/scalphamission

was fun watching you play! It's punishing I know, I'm sorry 😔

Level designer here. Just want to thank/apologize to everyone who has tried this game lol. The real poison is in it's difficulty.

I was able to do a no death run, but it was not easy:

did I complete the game?  I did not. I rage quit. When you said it was hard. You meant really hard. lol. So you know the little jump where you jump and then there's a wall of spikes? I tried for 10 minutes to get to that and beat it. As soon as I beat it I died, so yeah.. haha

what i liked: It's a platformer. What's not to like? When I did complete a section it was very satisfying. The aesthetic reminded me of mario from the SNES which I like. I also like that you used Godot!

what I would suggest: Maybe this just isn't my kind of game, but maybe have an easy mode haha I don't really like games that are super hard usually. Or at the very least have a checkpoint after these really tough parts. That would make it so much better for me. I swear I would have played for a lot longer. I just don't want to have to complete the same part over and over again though (I know my video game actually does the same exact thing and doesn't have checkpoints either lol, but that's cuz I don't know how to add them yet!). Someone else mentioned it but the slime is a little too slidey I agree. It doesn't feel satisfying that it slides so much.

overall: fun but makes me feel angry feelings haha

Thanks so much for your feedback! Really appreciate you playing the game. Yes, its very difficult. That was partially by design and partially by accident as I really enjoy rage quit platformers and don't realize most people do not LOL. The game absolutely needs checkpoints, I 100% agree. That's one of the things we'll be adding if we keep adding to this game but we just ran out of time (we submitted with 1 min to spare :)  ). The player controller is a little rough around the edges and the sliding is extra frustrating so that will be adjusted too. If I add more levels to the game, I'll probably make about 3 levels prior to the 3 in the game to get players acclimated. The game definitely starts out too difficult for most.

Wow I'm so glad you got it submitted in time! A game needing some tweaking I always think is much better than a game not submitted (in time that is). I would love to play more especially once those changes are implemented!

Cute game with nice visuals, could use some work on controls, the slime slides too much and doesnt keep sprinting inertia when jumping

Other than that, “fun” game that took 30 minutes of my life :D

Thanks for devoting a TV episode's worth of time to playing our game! Appreciate the feedback :)

For me it was way too hard but of course that's just me. I also enjoyed the sound design and the cutscene.

Developer

It is indeed too hard LOL I don't disagree
