I thoroughly enjoyed playing. Really grabs your attention. I do wish it was easier to restart the game. I wanted to change my upgrade strategy after a few levels. The origami aspect is really interesting and I love how much thought went into the characters and the paper animations. Nice job! Fresh concept, a battle of origamis—I like it! The background needs improvement, but overall, it's amazing. Good job! Congratulations!
I will appreciate your comment and punctuation according to your experience with my work. Greetings and thanks for your support.
In retrospect, the background really need to be improved or change.
Thank you for the comment!
This is incredible, it looks and sounds great! The only issue I can see with it is that it's too easy to essentially soft lock yourself, on my first run I prioritised upgrades but then didn't get to buy the knight before stage 5 so it was essentially unwinnable, on my second run I was 25 coins shy of buying the tank when the enemy stared making them, so that was pretty much unwinnable. It doesn't help that the browser version seems to cache my progress and I couldn't find a way to erase it so I had to go to in-private browsing for the second run. It would be nice to have options to salvage a run (being able to grind previous stages a bit or respec into different upgrades) rather than having to play through from the beginning to make different choices.
Overall though you should definitely continue with this, it's super novel and engaging!
Yeah the balance is a mess, sadly I run out of time to balance the game properly.
Thank you for the feedback and the kind words!
What a super unique game. Insane that this was made in 3 days!
Thanks!
This was a really cool style, plus a really interesting mechanic for folding the units- I actually think you could have removed or reduced the classic "wave attack" genre mechanics, like the cooldowns and even the mana, if you leaned a little more on fast-paced and accurate folding. I dunno!
I will say that the pace was a little slow, and paywalls were a little high. I only got past level 2 by waiting around for 5 minutes, and immediately afterwards buying the mana-regen upgrade. I think making mana regen faster from the beginning would bring players right into the fun!
Good work, keep it up!
"I actually think you could have removed or reduced the classic "wave attack" genre mechanics, like the cooldowns and even the mana, if you leaned a little more on fast-paced and accurate folding."
That will reinforce even more the idea of folding origami instead of using a virtual currency like mana. That's a great idea! I will definitely implement this in the polished version, thanks a lot!
the folding mechanic is great! adds so much more depth
Thanks!
Really fun! Thank you for making this.
Thanks
Game looks and feels so good. But I stuck at stage 5. Gold earned from enemies is so low to countine.
Thank you!
Yeah the game is definitely not balanced, I ran out of time.
Couldn't load it yet to actually play, but the art is impressive!
Not sure if it's my computer or network, but twice the loading bar reached ~95% and got stuck. Any clue why?
Thanks!
Hmm it's weird, I tried loading it in multiple browser and they all work, maybe it was caused by the network?
Might be, weird because I played another unity game and it was faster to load, but got stuck for a little while at the same point. I'll try again
Still the same issue :(
Now the loading screen skips straight to the ~95% and stops there. It's like your assets are cached, but it just won't start
Presentation is stellar, really dig the mixed-reality feeling. Pace of the game is soooooo slow to start. Making one frog every 15 or so seconds and then watching it hop across the table for another minute is a tough introduction. Seems like a cool concept though!
Thanks! Yeah, sadly I was running out of time and didn't have enough time to balance the game...
