I, erhmm... I found a bug!

I clipped through the bottom somehow and this happened. Whoops!

Anyway, the artwork and music are very cute, and I love the intro cutscene. Really well done, especially for a first solo game jam!

Oh no!! I thought I blocked off all of those areas! D:

Lol, whoops!

Thank you for playing my game and giving me feedback, I’m so glad you enjoyed it (minus the bug!)

Loved the background of the dolphins moving passed 🐬

The world layout by the art style and how it animated did really capture the feeling of being underwater 💧

Developer

It was really fun to animate them and implement the theme in general, probably my favorite part of the jam! Thanks for playing and giving feedback! :D

Really nice game! Enjoyed the story with the retro music. For some reason it wouldnt full screen for me but made it instead feel like I was playing an old gameboy or something! Good job

The art of the game is simply beautiful. The controls were buggy at times but overall pretty good game. Loved the concept.

This is a great first game jam! The movement was a little bit buggy for me but I'd love to see what you could do with some more time!

great style on this game! id love to see what you could do with more time, I felt a little confused about how to play at first thinking it was some kind of autoscroller, and then managed to soft lock myself by going too high XD no issues second time round though!

Everything about this game screams good theme! I super love how well everything is put together with sprites and theme and story.  I could not quite tell if I was getting hurt or doing something wrong so maybe a feature could be an "air" meter such that breathing in too many bubbles would be bad for you.

I wish I had two brownies.. ;(

Developer

Thanks so much for playing and leaving feedback!

Really glad you liked the theme :)

So what you were mentioning was probably the sound playing occasionally, which sounds a bit like a “hit” noise. That actually played whenever the player would shoot a bubble and it made contact with a terrain block, which it would destroy… So no damage was dealt to the player at all during the level. I should have clarified that bit in the instructions, thanks for mentioning it!

Go get some brownies!!

Hello! First of all, I am impressed with how you were able to make all the assets yourself and also code the game, within 72 hours no less! I especially liked the intro cutscene before the game start, good job there! I like the vibe and tone of the game, it's relaxing to just swim around the ocean destroying the evil green pearls, which I would like to add was a great use of the limitation- no green meaning you were in the process of destroying all the green stuff.

As for potential bugs that I noticed, there was the behavior with the bubbles where I'm not sure which direction they are supposed to shoot, as well as the fact that the bubbles destroy the terrain. It is also too bad that there were problems with the resolution of the game

Overall, I enjoyed it! I hope you also had a lot of fun making it, as well as learning a lot of stuff! Thank you for your hard work!

Thank you so much for playing and leaving me such an in depth review! It’s really helpful :)

I’m really glad you enjoyed the overall theme and the intro, I worked really hard on it so it makes me happy !! :D

As for the bugs, one was actually intentional but it wasn’t utilized much in the “tutorial” level. I wanted to box one of the pearls and make it so you had to destroy the terrain to grab it! Unfortunately the bubble thing is 100% a bug, though.
Thanks! Happy Game jamming!
