Use of the limitation
The game uses a 1-bit palette, so the colors are either pure black or pure white. Green is not a color that is used in this game. I also planned on having a story centered around a lifeless, barren planet (one lacking in greenery), but ran out of time before I could do anything with the idea.

Cookies eaten
I'm not sure if I ate any during this weekend. I did have a couple chia seed puddings, though.

Utterly fantastic presentation. The sound effects and the art oozes quality. The gameplay itself is also decent and elevated by the atmosphere. Congrats and good job!

The style on this, oh my god! :) Love the dithering effect. Great atmosphere.

this is really nicely done, its really enjoyable for such a simple idea/amount of content. didn't play throught the whole thing but it looks really nice and the levels work, could definitely be built on. crazy how far a tilemap and a simple lighting effect goes

The atmosphere is top notch, I was really stressed for my life when I had to run away from a hunter, I don't know if turning off the torchlight helped to get away (btw I love the on/off sfx of it)! The 1bit style is mastered! I think something could have be done to highlight the jam limitation outside of the color palette.

If you could try and rate my game, I'd be grateful!

Wow... I really love the 1-bit style and sound effects in your game.

The dithering is applied perfectly! The approaching footsteps combined with the pixel changes in the character made me feel very tense—an excellent horror game!

It's fair to say I felt super uneasy playing this game... I LOVE how even when the light is off, the animation correlates with the footstep sound, it's a nice touch.

Really fun. The darkness effect is really well done. First time I think I've ever felt genuinely spooked by a monster in a pixel art game.

Best game ive played on this game jam! Really cool, monster scared the crap out of me! Multiple times too! I never could find what I was looking for sadly, tried about 7 times. Only thing id say that would make it better is full screen and maybe to see further into halls depending how far I move my mouse to a limit. Kept running right into the monster hiding round cornors making no sound

Actually, you can fullscreen using F11 or F5, however I hastily added that last minute and didn't put it on the about screen.

Also, I agree that the monster should've had some kind of ambient sound, like some faint breathing or something. I'll have to consider all this if I ever decide to come back to this project!

Thanks for the feedback!

Best horror game I have played in 2 colours ⚫⚪

Loved the sounds and the visuals. When you hear the hunter moving around it gave me goosebumps.

I feel with some polish, story and more of game elements this would make a great full release 🎉

Great Job!, Amazing presentation!

Is there an ending?

Developer

Nope, there is no ending! I considered having some kind of final room, but I didn't have enough time to implement it.

I liked the spotlight effect, very well done! Great presentation overall.
