Neat little cleaning simulator and I liked the bopping music! At first the movement felt pretty clunky and took some getting used to. But that is largely because I am used to making slow direction adjustments over time and this game arguably punishes that. I kind of like that added challenge though of planning your direction more strategically. You did a good job with 'enemy' variety too, with the rats being agents of chaos but the (dogs?) being a more stealth-focused enemy. Nicely done!
Thanks for the feedback and for trying it out. Movement was a real sticking point for me. I wanted to give the authentic robot vacuum experience, and since my imagination tells me they can't turn and move at the same time, that's what I went for. I have no idea if they can in real life or not. :P
quite entertaining and fun music good job
Dan kicks butt at music. Thanks for trying it out!
This games look cool, i don't really like the gameplay but the controls are nice.
Also everything happening on screen make it really enjoyable.
gg
Very nice game. I had the similar idea to implement but did not have enough time to make it. GG.
Very nice looking game! I wish the vacuum would travel a bit faster, but I had fun regardless. Great work!
This was a lot of fun! Although when it said that the house was clean when I completed the game, it made me worried for the home owners to see all of the rats lol
It's halloween. That house hasn't been lived in for years. It's haunted by a demon robot vacuum cleaner that somehow still cleans the floors to this day! The animals are just squatters.
This was awesome! My original concept was similar to this, you really nailed it! I had every dog on me in the last stage, still got the win though, fun game!
Those dogs are quirky. They abuse a sort of side-effect of physics layer shenanigans. As a result, some weird behavior will emerge under the right (or wrong) circumstances. You can sometimes swing them around. I knew about this quirk a long time ago, and deliberately used it here, because I was hoping it would make people laugh. I'm thinking it just doesn't get a chance to happen that often, though. Try letting the dog "bite" for a half-sec of sitting still, and then turn in place. Sometimes they will "stick" to the collision point, and you can swing them around the bot. My intent was for that to simulate them sinking their teeth in and not letting go in a funny way.
Music was great. The pups were relentless. Got within 1 piece on the final level when my battery died. Had some issues playing the game on Mac in firefox, but worked in safari. Is the game supposed to be only in the top left of the screen or was that me? Overall one of my favorites so far!
Sorry for such a late reply. No the game should just play in the embedded window. I have no means to reproduce issues that may occur on other systems at the moment. It's Godot Engine v4.3 exported for web. I appreciate the heads-up, since I was unaware this could have issues like you mentioned.
I /think/ its just a firefox issue. I've only used unity and its my first jam and I noticed basically all of the godot games behave poorly in firefox for me, but work a /little/ better in safari. I'm guessing this is just some things that are not well optimized. Maybe its fine on windows firefox, but I only own macs so I am unable to test it.
Anyways, probably not worth worrying too much about because only weirdos like me use firefox :-P
Really fun concept, the music was a banger. The obstacles were creative, great lighting, i found myself spinning around a few times to try and find those last remaining tiny pieces lol.
Thanks for trying it out. Sorry for the late reply. I honestly wasn't sure those little pieces were such a great idea. I could have given them shadows, but I was sort of worried about having that many shadow-enabled objects on screen at a time (since the headlights required having four active sources at once for how they were casting shadows). I originally had the room basically pitch black, but the colors ended up much more washed-out in the lights than I liked, so I left the room just very dim, instead.
