I really like the combat system! It's very fun and unique, I found the difficulty curve a little intense though, the slimes were a bit too easy and then I got mobbed by 2 enemies at once and barely survived! I had fun though so maybe I just need to get good

Developer

Thank you for playing it!! You're totally right, I've noticed the same problem and have been trying to address it. I've recently added a variable that tracks the number of enemies beaten so maybe I'll factor that into card luck as you beat more.

I made it to the end, but I didn't have it in me to go back and kill everything else like the game suggests, so I guess I didn't beat it. The card mechanic is really cool, but I feel that having no way to get rid of bad cards besides using them is kind of rough.

Developer

I just added the beating every enemy thing today, but you're right there are a lot so I might go back and delete some lol.

Thank you for playing it to the end! I hope you enjoyed it

Just uploaded an updated version with a TON of bugs fixes,  new mechanics and improvements, and several new unique  enemies and visual updates to the level. I feel like it's done now.

I think this was one of the more interesting uses of the Limitation that I've seen so far. Good job!

Would be interesting in knowing how many cards you get/viewing the full deck/why everything goes to the thousandths place lol. Cool concept. I also made a little card game but yours is oozing with sauce. Love the Earthbound style

Developer

Thank you! They go to the thousands place because of the rushed way I implemented the cards where they each have a float value for whatever their effect is. I also forgot to cap the number of cards you can have if that's what you're talking  about lol. I have an update coming soon that fixes these things a bit tho

Interesting concept! The only thing I would point out is that the text is very slow. I suppose it's a problem on my machine given the other comments, but also it's way too slow for you to have wanted it to be that way. The combat ends for me before I even got the chance to see the whole text. And the player is bigger than my screen as well, so it was a bit hard to play.

But despite that I really think the concept is neat, it's a great and innovative use of the limitation, and it's definitely fun to have to deal with consequences that we couldn't know about.

The battles are absolute peak I will go down with this opinion

Very good! The battle system is funny and unique, with an Earthbound aesthetic. I like that you can walk around the enemy to avoid a battle, which is a fresh take compared to like, Pokémon and other RPGs. Overall, one of the better games in the jam, great job!

the combat system is SO GOOD, but I think the rest ended up being a bit dull, but overall a really unique game, well done!
