and when lines didn't disappear as I expected... argggg...!!!
put a little music on it.. it can be very cool
Thanks for playing! Now that the voting has ended, I will add some audio.
cool
Thank you!
Very nice :) The first part was really difficult and in the second I found out that im not good in tetris XD Well done!
Thank you very much!
The shooter part was great, and it was definitely a fun surprise when the ship suddenly became a tetris piece. Unfortunately I seem to be stuck in the tetris section. I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong, but all I see is the ship-turned-tetris-piece looping from bottom to top over and over. Everything else works, but pressing space just speeds it up instead of sending me to the next level. Let me know if I need to do something else, and keep up the good work!
The tetris piece stage has two parts. If you are in the first one (which is a mini tutorial that shows you the controls), you need to press Space while you are not moving to pass to the next part. So, before pressing Space, you need to press Down key so that the piece stays in place on the right side of the screen. If you are in the second part of the tetris stage (where you play Tetris as you know), the piece should stop when hitting the top-base wall (if it doesn't, it's a bug that I haven't experienced). Hope it helps you!
Thanks for the feedback, I really appreciate it!
That explains it! I was able to get through it after doing as you said, and the "upside down" tetris was neat. Having blocks floating in midair after completing lines beneath (above?) them threw me off and forced me to rethink my usual tetris strategy. Well done!
The difficulty rises pretty quickly. Unfortunately the game just froze. I think it was when I died, but not sure.
Sorry to hear that, but I'm not able to repeat your bug. Could you tell me in which stage were you when it crashed? Were you controlling a spaceship or a tetris piece? The last part of the spaceship should be quite difficult, as it is designed to kill you eventually (it's an endless level), but a game over menu should appear when you die if you don't reach a certain threshold to pass to the next level. :(
I was controlling the spaceship, it was stage 3 or 4. And I think I hit the asteroid when that happened.
The spaceship part has three stages, so you were in the final stage of the spaceship. When dying in the final stage, you should automatically appear on the first tetris level (tetris minitutorial). I still don't understand what happened within the code... I tried to replicate your bug, but it worked well for me on different tries with different browsers (Firefox, Chrome & Edge).
Either way, thanks for the reply!
hahaha the best plot twist ever! Really liked the game!
Good to see that you liked it, thanks a lot!
The visuals of the game were cool and nice. I would definetly recommand to add particles or sound to give more feedback to the player!
Thank you! I'll try to add some sounds in the near future...
Haha, iwas not expecting that. and wtf TetrisBlock are doing in space. nice game i enjoyed it.
But it seems Lines are not breaking if you leave a Gap from a top base and build a floating chunk.. i swear i had it all planned there. Several LINES, they just didnt blow T_T
Glad you enjoyed it! Now that you mention it, I think I just realized where the bug is. The way I handle line detection is a little awkward, and it seems that I don't check whether a line is full of blocks if there aren't any blocks on at least one line above the completed line. I'll update the game as soon as I can. Thanks for letting me know!
Edit: Bug Fixed!
The game was fun and the little bits of animation and polish were nice. Some sound effects might have been nice though!
Thanks! I had the intention to add some sound effects, but it was getting late for the Mini Jam 54 submission date ;)
I may add some sounds later on...
