Really really fun entry, I played it for a while. I got a deathless run eventually, I did go in with some prior knowledge from beanborgs stream so my first run was a 4k pointer. I soon discovered a bug however
The score doesnt reset between runs.
I tried for a while to get the impossible gem but never managed it.
My deathless run wasnt an all gem run tho.
Great entry! its is quite fast tho.
Hey! Good catch! Thanks so much! Your feedback is noted.
I found this game suprisingly enjoyable. I think if there was some moving parts or platforms (yeah it would be harder ;) ) but the pause limitation would be more distinct. In the end still its cool platformer.
Thank for a very good game. I liked it very much. The Robin Hood theme is great and the mechanics look very polished, though I had some difficulties with keyboard mapping, but I think that platformers are designed for gamepads anyway :D Good job.
It’s a really cool game and concept, but the keyboard makes it kind of miserable. I haven’t tried with a controller yet. That said, I don’t think think you should subtract the score from the player when they die, for two reasons: A) In many cases, the death is punishment enough, as it is very challenging to get from one checkpoint to another in a few places. B) It discourages collecting all of the gems, since many of them are going to cause numerous deaths along the way, often resulting in a net loss of points for collecting the gem.
I had my fun, even though I never quite managed to get comfortable with the keyboard controls. I'll try in again with a controller to see if that's better.
And yeah, the sounds do get annoying fast.
Fairly fun, but very challenging haha. I like the level design that looks like it loops back on itself and is all one continuous map! I suck at it too much to make it very far though haha
Very fun and challenging! A platformer with difficult (and usually fair) controls, this game is a blast, but if you're going to play this, heed my advice and turn off the volume! The checkpoint sound plays every single time to pass by it, as well as when you spawn, so unless you want to be throwing your controller across the room as the "bringring" sound of the checkpoint plays right after you die, hit that mute button.
Ugh you're so right! And the jump sound started to annoy me too. What have I done, I've created a monster! I'm so glad you enjoyed playing! I'll upload a modified second version with better audio control. Still learning Godot dev, so things like proper audio control aren't in the bag yet.
I am pretty familiar with both audio an Godot! If you ever have questions or would like help, feel free to get in contact with me on twitter @spacebasssoft
Cool! Thank you!
Keyboard controls are strange. It also felt a bit too fast for me to do the wall grabbing well. Also I don't quite see the connection to the theme, maybe I didn't get far enough ;)
But the name of the game.. Ehhhh, I don't know.. Maybe not the best choice
I figured Robin Hood is the perfect criminal hero, since he broke the law to steal from the rich and give to the poor? I don't know what you mean about the title. Hood signifies a class struggle, maybe you thought it would be taken as racist? Crime is significantly a class issue more than a race issue, and Robin Hood is a quintessential common man's hero. But anyway this isn't the forum for those kinds of discussions. There is a story screen that explains thieving from the rich to give to the poor.
You're right about the controls, but also you don't need to hold wall grab to climb walls! You can just jump up them. Kind of a bug, but if it helps play the level.
Wow that had some really difficult parts! I gotta say the controls felt a lot more natural on a controller. Great level design and I love the old school style.
Thank you! I appreciate you playing. :) It's my first time making a platforming engine. I learned an annoying amount! Haha
