Clouds go brrrr
I had a lot of fun playing this game, sometimes I didn't understand how the mechanics worked, but I did enjoy it. I really liked the art, and how the armadillo moved. You did a great job. I streamed it on twitch, in case you want to watch it.
Thanks for playing and recording yourself, that's really helpful feedback-wise! To answer the one question that arose, heaven / hell in addition to having the differing color palettes also cause the "rooms" that are generated to be different. Heaven has more of a focus on platforming through obstacles (empty ground and clouds with lightning) and hell has more enemies and is generally harder but nets you more score. The color palette swap just serves as a visual indicator :) You're right that that should've been more clear, wish I had found a better way to communicate that to the player. Thanks again!
Pretty cool, I like the idea. It's very original. I wish karma counter was more visible.
Unfortunately I don't understand why sometimes the enemies kill me and sometimes I kill them. Otherwise I think the game has potential ;)
Thanks for playing and for your feedback! Could you expound on what you mean on why sometimes enemies kill you / vice versa?
I like this! The random stage generation keeps it challenging and fresh. It seems like the color changing for heaven / hell also affects enemies and stage generation? Awesome either way!
Thank you! Glad you noticed, wish I could've found a way to make that more clear, yes the level generation gives you different rooms based on if you're in heaven / hell. I intended for hell to be harder but net you more points and heaven to have more of a reliance on platforming through obstacles rather than fighting enemies. Thanks for playing!
The aesthetic of this game is right up my alley I think it's well polished and it can definetely be a fully fledged game with it's own story keep up the good work.
Thanks! Love that you loved the art since I was a huge fan of yours too ๐
The game is really good! One bug I noticed: The life can go to down to negative.
Thanks! Yeah, I used 0 based indexing and didn't Math.max in the UI lol. Will do that next build, thanks!
My favourite so far. I like the graphics and sound design, but most importantly it's freakishly hard, but after playing 5 minutes I felt like my highscore kept improving.
Thanks so much! Super glad you enjoyed it. I did mean to make it hard but easily replayable, though it is hard to tune difficulty when I'm the only one playing it over the weekend lol so I think it ended up a bit harder than I even intended. Thanks again for playing and for the kind words ๐
I think the graphics are great - low res, but full of little details!
And the bouncy gameplay is interesting! Gotta take aim on enemies, dodge spikes... a cool little entry overall!
Thanks for playing! Was pretty happy with how the graphics turned out since I'm just a dev lol, so appreciate the kind words ๐
An awesome retro-styled game. The movement is extremely fast , making the game harder, but at the same time smooth.
Glad you liked it ๐ Thanks for playing!
Quite a lot of enemies done in 3 days I'm impressed! I wasn't quite sure what the colour changing of the screen meant when I killed an enemy? I also am quite a fan of the pixel art aesthetic!
Thanks for playing! I agree there should be more feedback explaining it. The palette swap signifies switching among earth / heaven / hell ๐
Cool soundtrack and the visual style really remind me of Downwell :) A surprising amount of detail and life for so low-res sprites.
Best compliment anyone could've given ๐ญ Thanks so much for playing!
