The first guy defeated me every time. I tried button mashing as fast as I could, even got to the heart once. Maybe scale the difficulty back at the start of the game. Other than that the colors worked great together and the game itself if a fun idea. Would love to see what more you can do with this as a full game.

Weird, the enemies should start of doing less damage for all three moves but they do randomly choose between the attacks and could have picked headbutt each time which does the most damage. I was planning on adding a damage number indicator to come up whenever a hit is landed to show how much the attack does. Thank you for trying out, will continue to update the game!

Fun game! I get the feeling there is supposed to be a strategy, but along with most beat-em-ups, I got through by button smashing. Nice job, good feels!

Developer(+1)

There was supposed to be a combo attack system but I over scoped a little too much and couldn't get it done so for now button smashing is the way :D Thankyou for playing!

it was fun! Good use of the palette and music.

The combat at first was a little difficult to understand, but after a couple of try a manage to grasp it a little more and finish it.

It's great that you implement this in 72 hs.

Congrats!

Thankyou for the kind words. I didn't want the game to be too easy so I tried adding a knock/stagger when the player was hit and it bugged out and I couldn't get it to how I liked it in the time frame.

I don't quite understand how the theme has been implemented.

a part of that, nice use of the palette and cool music

Developer

It hasn't really been implemented as the theme was "purely inspirational and not required" . Thankyou for trying it out.

For a game made in 3 days its great.

I liked the art and the UI, they seem pretty polished. I didn't understand the combat system completely, but I liked the final boss battle thing. Great job!

Developer

Most of my experience comes from making simple one button hyper casual games that usually only use UI so that part was easy. However this was my first game that had more control over the character and animations aha. I'm still getting used to writing code to get it all working together. Thank you for playing and the feedback! :D

I like that this as a homage to early beat-em-ups, the feeling is captured well in the pixel art and the track is rad!
The auto-block is a bit confusing, I like the attacks being rapid but its much slower when fighting an enemy. The chosen colors are all very saturated,  the clarity of the graphics would benefit from lights and darks with the darks mainly for background elements and the lights for the player and enemies to focus the eye.
Also good job on your presentation of a complete game!

Thankyou for the feedback. I had a bug in the last few hours with the attacking and auto block and couldn't manage to get it back to how it was before in the time I had. Your response will go to helping my next game better :)

I enjoyed playing this, although I was pretty bad at it - I ended up just running away from a huge swarm of women, something that I assure you I don't experience in real life.
