Use of the limitation
I only used 5 colors! Tough for me as I am a big fan of color palettes. I used the 5 Crowns color palette from Lospec submitted by Sk3ll Sk3ll.

A very fun game. Pleasant music, simple but charming graphics (the monster eyes and the backlighting on the Captain's face and body when he turns on the flashlight are both nice touches). The control scheme is a little unusual, but the controls are responsive. I also appreciate the mix of challenges, which are presented in an escalating pattern and never feel unfair.

In the spirit of constructive criticism, I would suggest that a bit of head motion be added to the character's walk animation.

Thank you for the feedback! I could definitely see tweaking the animation bringing the character to life!

Cool game! I loved the idea of using your flashlight, and it was really well implemented too. The new concepts, like enemies and platforms, were introduced well too. The controls were a little difficult to get used to though, but they weren't too difficult. And I loved Flavio too - really added some personality to the game. Good work!

The dialogue and platforming were fun! The camera panning when respawning was a bit slow for the later levels which are longer, but I liked seeing how the flashlight affected the environment and the art was great!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! The camera panning was something I had not considered with the bigger levels!

Thanks so much! I referenced Vimlark's video on sprite creation, and that helped a lot with animating!

Music is great! Controls are a little awkward at first, but once I played a bit I got used to reaching for C. Fun!
