I liked your game so much I gave a total 5
Thanks!
Presentantion is Ace and Jack out of 21, no questions there.
While main battle mechanic is neat, battles aren't really different from one another. There were one creative moment with Crazy Eights during final battle, where you could kill them until you've got 21 instead of facing Jack every attack, and that was cool, and more strategic moments like this would make the game so much better,
Overall, good jam entry with great presentaion and underwhelming gameplay.
Thanks for playing!
It's true that there's not that much variety in the actual card game, I quickly found out that the game of blackjack can only vary so much. That's why I went with varying enemy attacks and composition a bit more.
I agree that battles being somewhat similar would be an issue to overcome if I was going to make this a bigger game.
Really neat concept, and the amount of straight-up card puns I had to deal with was out-standing. Also a very nice level of polish.
Considering that it's based on such a notorious gambling game, the game already had a surpisingly deep amount of strategy, but I wonder if you could do even better. Getting rid of a single enemy at the end of the wave most of the time just wasn't very interesting and often just had a failure rate of >50%, even when making the optimal choice, which just kind of felt bad. On the other end of the spectrum, the final fight was brilliantly designed and super enjoyable. Definitely interested in seeing if you can elaborate on that concept.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Yeah, the situation where you just lose battles sometimes out of sheer bad luck came up a few times during playtesting with friends, and I thought on it for a while, but I wasn't able to arrive at an answer over the coursed of the jam.
Î am really big Fan of BlackJack, so i love your concept. Making a good fighting BlackJack game isnt easy, but you managed it really good. The controls were easy to undertsand and the cards easy to read. But it would be cool to get a greater feedback sound when winning or loosing a black jack fight.
I am not a huge fan of your artwork, but i think this is just my personal taste.
Thanks for your feedback! Glad the concept worked well!
I figured the art style would be a bit divisive, especially with my limited experience in pixel art, so I take no offense at the artwork comment.
Loved the game. Very original, and fun to play. You've put a lot of effort in the cards theme. Well done!
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it!
love the puns, game play was great music was awesome, very unique concept
Thanks for playing!
The art is very nice to look at, and I like how the cards were incorporated. Good Job!
Thanks! Glad you liked it!
Wow, such a great game. I can't belive how much has been made in just 3 days. The music and artstyle really go hand in hand, and the puns are just brillant, I loved them.
Thank you!
Takes a while to get used to the controls but when you get it you get it.
Very polished game I enjoyed it!
I'm glad the effort paid off! Thanks for playing!
very well design game, we are totally immerse in a different world. the character are cute.
Thanks! Glad you liked it!
The graphics are wonderful, and first of all very well takes style. The palette is observed very competently. In addition, this kind of gameplay I see for the first time, which is also a super plus. I don't like playing cards, but here this mechanic is presented in a very interesting way.
Thanks for your feedback! I'm very happy with how the gameplay came out, and I think I got a little lucky with it, hahaha.
