Man, the level art is amazing! The grayscale with color splashes really nicely conveyed the dream-like vibe to me. The heartbeat effect when close to enemies is also nice.

Unfortunately, I just couldn't figure out what to do in the game. Yeah, I could hide in the well to fill up my courage meter and turn one guy into a smiling green statue, but then what? My courage meter just stayed where it was, but nothing I tried seemed to have any effect on those guys anymore. Restarting was also pretty buggy and walking past the ladybug just made me fall forever. If you iron out the bugs and communicate the mechanics and goal of the game a bit better, I think this could turn into a neat little experience.

The art was really cool, but the game really didn't succeed at presenting its mechanics. I couldn't figure out at all how to get past the creatures.

The background art is wonderful. The rest of the game is kinda meh.

Very understandable the gameplay got smushed together in order to meet 72-hour guidelines, sorry about that. ~Nic

loved the art. couldn't figure out what to do for the life of me. also you can fall off the map from the left of the beetle.

this is really interesting, I would really like to see this concept expended!

Developer

Thanks for playing. The idea was for the courage meter to build up during the process of hiding near enemies, however, during the last few hours of the jam bugs came up and shouting isn't consistent as it was during its testing phase. ~Nic

Absolutely beautiful visualizations and although I couldn't figure out how to get past the first bit, avoiding those monsters was pretty creepy lol

The game seems to be a victim of some slight over-scoping (It happens to the best of us :P), but there is so much potential here.

Very creative use of the limitation guys, great work!!

Thank you so much, we definitely over-scoped on this one for sure. We didn't initially plan for the monsters to be all placed on the bottom floor but it turned out creepy and made the game a bit longer. ~Nic

Thanks for playing, Audrey is definitely hands down the best artist I've ever had the pleasure to work with! On the mechanics, we did plan for it to be super polished and not so broken however, bugs came up and time was dwindling down. ~Nic

Like the art! not my type of game but it is really good despite that fact.

Thanks for playing!

Love the hand-drawn level! The only downside of this is that it is not well visible where you can walk on and where you can’t. Somehow I was unable to figure out how to beat the fear monsters. I kept looking at them, but the courage bar never filled up. Instead, the eye was turning red and then I just spawned again.

Hi there sorry about the difficulty. That wasn't our intention, try hiding and letting the monsters walk past you and your meter should work!

~Nic
