I think... these are several levels. That being said the game is insanely fun. I went over five levels or so (and I'm a terribly impatient gamer)
I beat the game, for someone that has mad ADHD that says pretty much everything you need to hear.
I think the way you used the limitation was one of the most creative things I've seen so far, kudos for that!
I had a lot of fun playing your game. I like that the controls are simple and very snappy. I also really liked the simplistic art style though the background was really distracting and hurt my eyes a little. The ability to disable music was a nice touch. And it's kinda funny because this somehow reminds me of the game I made. In the end, I think this game is pretty cool.
Definitely the best game I've played this jam! You've definitely got yourself a full game concept here, I'd love to play a full version of this!
The controls are tight, the hitboxes are perfect, the level design is great!
Your "use" of the limitation is a little cheeky. It feels like multiple levels even though you are techinically "building" the one level. If you had had the frog zip back to the starting position and the new level pieces traverse in then it would have served to make it feel like the one room perhaps? As it stands I think it's basically 8 levels haha
Also for accessibility reasons the bg should be disable-able.
I love the music in this sooo much -it slaps!! And the presentation and style/effects is exciting and really appealing!! The controls/action are simple to learn and satisfying to master!! And adding to the level was a cool use of the limitation -easily one of my favorite games in this jam so far -awesome work! :D
a nice quick game! i did find myself wishing for a “disable background effects” option tho, by the end of my playthrough my eyes kinda hurt…
What a pleasing game!
Enjoyment: It's a really fun, yet simple mechanic.
Concept: The idea of a level that gets harder and harder is cool.
Presentation: Art style is striking, music is nice (and the option to mute it is a nice touch). My only complaint is that there were no instructions. I poked at my keyboard for a bit looking for a jump button.
Use of Limitation: I think it would be cool if the changes to the level were based on your actions. For example, a spike spawns where you landed before. Since the changes are preset, is it really a single level?
Overall, I really liked this entry.
yes it really is a single level. The new things that spawn when the level restarts are all on invisible layers which I know isn't really apparent .
Also initially I was going to make the mute button change the music but when I saw the file size I removed the other 2 songs and changed it to a mute button.
I enjoy a puzzling challenge once in a while. Really well executed and it feels satisfying to play. Overall, one of my favourite submissions.
Crispy sound effects, background looks nice but is a little much, fun to play.
Really like the concept, it’s a neat little platforming(?) puzzle, and it’s a good use of the limitation. My only real criticism is the background made it very difficult to look at - almost painful. Overall, great job :)
