Use of the limitation
In the game you play through a music exam. There are 3 question in total in the exam. 2 of them require the dice to decide which chord you have to find the notes to.

Cookies eaten
Unfortunately none :(

How was your experience with Mini Jam?
Everything was great. Maybe rather than the theme being optional it could be mandatory. And you being able to use any already existing assets or code would be really helpful.

I like the story and presentation. I appreciate the help button, since I don't know my scales at all.  The dice mechanic feels kind of tacked on.

Thanks a lot for the reply! I'll try my best to fit the limitations in the game next jam.

very difficult for someone who doesn't know the scales.  Otherwise its a good game

Developer

Yeah, I was afraid that would be the case, that's why I added the help button, but I should have made it more clear (maybe a tutorial). Unfortunately I didn't have much time. Thanks for the feedback nonetheless.

I just was very confused, and feel like this could of been done without the dice... which kind goes against the limitation itself.

Developer

I mean the game would work without the dice, but then you would always have to do the same level, which wouldn't be that fun/entertaining/educational. Thanks for the feedback, though.

I didn't understant the goal of the game so i was just avoiding falling objects but I like the game

Developer

Thanks lol. I didn't have much time to make a tutorial

I'm really bad at music chords so i couldn't beat it, but otherwise, good game!

Developer

Thanks a lot for trying it out!

Interesting idea, but it seems like the notes I needed didn't spawn often enough. Still appreciate something musical as a nice change of pace, though.

Developer(+1)

Yeah I know, I wanted to make the notes be random, but maybe I could make that the notes you need have a greater probability of spawning then the rest. Nonetheless I really appreciate your feedback :)

Took me a while to figure out what to do. But after failing the exam and catching the wrong note over and over again, I got it and enjoyed the game. Good job!

Developer

I really appreciate it. Thanks!

Nice game! The experience was enjoyable!

Developer

Thanks a lot! Glad you liked it :)

It was a little tough to figure out what to do at first. A better tutorial would have helped (I failed the first level flat out just because I didn't know I needed to dodge the notes), and once I figured out what I needed to do, the notes for the chord or scale I needed didn't spawn often enough. This meant that I just sat on the next note in the chord or scale and just waited, and there was no need to dodge other notes.

Thanks for the feedback! You are right, I should have done a mechanic that prevents you from just staying still. But I just didn't have enough time to add more stuff. But I really appreciate the feedback :)

I had some trouble at first understanding what to do but overall the experience was enjoyable !

Developer

Thank you for checking it out!

It was fun running around to catch the notes, Good job!

Developer

Thanks a lot! I am really glad you liked it!

Nice game! However it took me a bit to realize I had to catch the falling lines while standing on the correct notes to progress, having them both be the thing you need to grab and also hurting you was difficult to work with. Maybe a recolor of correct notes would help, otherwise I felt like I just needed to stand still on the right note and wait.

Developer

Thanks a lot for the feedback. Yeah I know what you mean with just needing to stand still on the right note and wait. I might add another rule to the game that prevents that(like you can only stand still for 5 seconds)

cool concept

i would mix piano tiles and subway surfers

Developer
