Loved the concept and visual humor! I really respect the design challenge you gave yourself on this. I streamed my thoughts and playthrough here https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1113579105?t=00h48m42s

Thanks a lot for the detailed review! Made us realize the concept is much more complicated than we thought (too many things the player has to focus on). Really appreciate your feedback and suggestions. Glad you liked it nevertheless!

I really did! If you update it with a new build, hit us up to test it for you!

Very enjoyable and fun game.  Nice art and audio.  Sometimes I wasn't sure why I failed though.

Developer

thank you, much appreciated! yeah, it’s a bit confusing :D

Submitted

Ur game is so cool, I'd like that. I'd appreciate it a lot if you could check out my submission too!

Developer

thanks, glad you like it! sure, will check it out.

29 is good?

Nice rhythm game. Next time make a more detailed tutorial, please, because I read all comments to understand how to play. Maybe better to replace numbers on every limb with something more readable (maybe use colors), because I concentrate on hearts and it's hard to check numbers. Otherwise, this is a good completed game :)

Developer(+1)

not bad :D

thanks a lot! yeah we should’ve spent more time explaining, but we decided to rather invest the last bit of time we had into balancing. it was a bit too ambitious, but we had a lot of fun making it :D

Submitted

Great, fun is why we make it :)

I took a while to understand the game. Once I did, I found the best strategy is to sacrifice three limbs and just focus on one, so this is effectively a one button game.

Also, the button rhythm doens't feel syncronized with the music for me (I was early in most notes)

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

sacrificing limbs makes the oxygen go into them at random (if you don’t hit the beat perfectly), and the oxygen requirements for the next dance move increases for the remaining limbs. but i agree, it’s probably easier to focus on one of them :D

yeah i also wanted to make it possible configure audio delay (or create an auto-config option). it seems that delay varies a little, depending on device and browser. we noticed such issues in firefox but it seemed to be resolved upon reloading the page (so that the game is cached). if it helps, you might want to try it in a chromium-based browser.

thanks for playing!

I'm sure this is a great game but I have no idea how to play it. Random limbs keep dying and I don't know if I need to use them more often or if I specifically should not, it doesn't seem to matter? Or am I missing something?

Developer(+1)

sorry for not providing a more detailed manual, it’s not that easy to understand by itself. basically, every 8 beats (when the white bar is empty) the dancer choses another dance move, and each dance move requires a certain amount of oxygen in each limb. this is the only thing you can control: whenever you hit a beat, you move oxygen to the limb you pressed the button for (e.g. if you pressed Q, you move it to the left arm). whenever the dancer choses a new dance move, all limbs have to be “OK!” (meaning, they have enough oxygen), otherwise they’ll die. unfortunately we ran out of time to create a proper tutorial. thanks for trying it nevertheless!

Ahh thanks for explaining. It could indeed have been made more clear, but I understand the time constraints of a jam can get in the way.

Either way, still gonna give it high marks because apart from that, it's a really well-made, professional looking game.

thanks a lot, much appreciated :)

Really cool idea! Love a rhythm game and this is a fun spin on them :)

Developer(+1)

thanks, we love them too :D

Enjoyable game! Nice idea with the four limbs and QEAD mapping. The music fits perfectly to the game feel. Great!

Developer

glad you liked it, thanks!

It seems pretty fun, too bad I suck at rythm games.

Developer

yeah they’re not for everyone, i understand that :) thanks for trying it anyways!

Submitted

I failed because the next stage heart was already on the middle heart and i haven't seen the new keys i need to press. Maybe make the next stage start a bit later? Btw fun game and nice art style

Developer(+1)

i don’t understand what you mean, but glad you liked it nevertheless 😅

Submitted

Add some time between stages, I died before see what key I should press.

Developer(+1)

aah now i know what you mean. you can simply press any of the 4 keys, every stage requires you to deliver oxygen to all 4 limbs anyways (if they’re not dead yet). we could’ve made it more obvious though, i take that :D

Wow, this is a great music game, Dude!)

I love the mechanics of the heartbeat and the music is really catchy!

I hope my feedback was useful! I'd appreciate it a lot if you could check out my submission too!

Developer(+1)

happy that you liked it! yeah sure, will check it out too

Good game I think the use of the qead is an interesting choice and it took a while to get used to but otherwise very good game love the graphics and the music GG.

ps. Id really love it if you could check out my game as well (:

Developer

thanks! yeah will take a look for sure :)

Music is nice, art style is beutiful, concept is interesting, and mechanics are good enough to make this a very fun game. Keep up the good work.

Developer

thanks a lot! glad you had fun :)

concept is really funny! i love this game

Developer

thanks, happy to hear that!

This looks really cool and is a lot of fun, but unfortanetly i don't quite get the game. A giant wall of text isn't exactly the best way to teach a player what they need to do. I often had a game over screen and didn't know why, but i'll stilll give your game a 4/5 because it is fun and polished.

I hope the feedback helped you a bit, it would be really cool if you could check out my submission too. Thanks. :)

Developer(+1)

i agree, unfortunately we ran out of time. otherwise we would’ve replaced the wall of text with a proper tutorial that slowly introduces the different parts of gameplay. in short, there’s two ways how you lose: either you miss a note completely (e.g it moves past you and the next one already approaches, and you didn’t press anything), or your last limb wasn’t “OK!” when the white bar ran out.

thanks for the feedback, glad you liked it!

good game
