The game is a fishing game that uses magnets. When you sink your magnet, it takes you underwater to a new dimension.

Cool game, I agree with JacobJustice that the 3D models and texturing were great. The thing I would change is the beeping sound, it would've felt a bit better to have it gradually speed up depending on how close to the "good stuff" you are instead of 3 different sound effects. In any case that's just probably personal preference haha. Awesome work!
Thanks you! Also, that's an GENIUS idea which wouldn't have required much work to implement with how our code was set up (since all the sound effects was 1 sound effect altered at runtime). I wish we thought about that earlier. :D
I also made a game about magnet fishing, so brilliant idea 🤠
Game was fun, I wish the magnet moved a little faster and the fish slowed you down more because I just plowed through all the fish to the bottom. Other than that I like the idea of the metal detector helping you find the best location for the magnet. Last bit of advice, 270MB for this game is kinda crazy and my laptop fans went crazy when it started, might be some performance issues to check. Nice job though 👍
Thanks for playing and the nice words. I agree with the faster magnet and more punishing fish. Unfortunately we started play testing way too late to get a good feeling for the game. Also solid point on the size/optimization. I think an engine like Godot would have been a bit more fitting for this (not including the benefit of a web game), but the rest of the team used this gamejam as an opportunity to learn more about Unreal Engine. Now that everyone has learnt a bit more of Unreal Engine, I hope our next step is learning to optimize it a bit more :D.
Very creative! For only knowing Blender for <2 weeks the models and textures were great. The concept is very fun too, I only wish the placement of objects was randomized every time (if I put the magnet in the bottom left I got a weapon/safe every time).
As far as feedback, I would only request that the fishing part is faster paced. If you hit a fish, you spend a lot of time waiting just to gain back speed with no real risk. Waiting around is never fun, and inflicting boredom is not a valid penalty in a good game! Maybe instead of losing speed when you hit a fish, lose points? Or maybe it just takes you back to the previous screen and you have to start over. Just my opinion though :)
Great work team!
Thank you for playing our game. That's a very valid point on the speed penalty. I'll look into fixing it sometime. As for the randomization, we had a system set up, but I guess there was a weak point XDD
It happens! Gotta check those edge cases :)
I learnt Blender about a week and a half ago so go easy on me. Massive props to Crash (Started learning UE5 this Wednesday) and Insert(Our UE5 Sensei) for pulling this game together in UE5. This is our first ever team-up for making this game.
We apologize for having to download. Unreal cannot export to web(not that we know of). Please do try out our game. It would be great for feedback since it was the first game jam for 2 of us.
Sorry I'm new to downloading games from itch, it's telling me I need Microsoft visual c++ run time after I've extracted the files to play it...wondering if you have a solution or explanation for this? Looking forward to playing this game!

These are the official download links to the runtime. Usually they get installed when you install a game from somewhere like steam, but since our game is just a .zip you'd either need them already, or get them.
It should be the 2015, 2017, 2019, 2022 combined package that you need. Then you just download the one for your bit version.
I hope this helps <3
