Great idea! I think its has a lot of potential once the mechanics are soundly tested and polished. I know you tried a new game engine, so making this game was bold and I admire you for that. Keep working on it as with enough work this might be a very fun puzzle-exploration-combat kind of game. Congratulations!

I'll be honest i tried to make myselt in fire ingame but didn't managed to make it :)

Umm but hey You had a cool idea in there. Where you can only temporarly attack^^

If you can help on how to do the fire thing just tell me and i'll replay your game!

Good luck on next projects!

I know some people have had trouble playing this, but don't get discouraged!  Everybody starts somewhere, and consider this:  over 2000 people entered this jam, and only 703 actually submitted entries.  You're one of those 703 with the perseverance to get something submitted.  I know you didn't feel great about a video someone put up on youtube about this game, but you have to use that to improve and learn for your next project!   What you have here is a creative idea that just needs better execution and polish.  That's really hard to pull off in a game jam.  Keep making games!  This is all an iterative and growing process!   :)

Cool concept, a big problem was that the tutorial text was off screen, including the part that said you could use arrow keys to move. It was also fiddly to set the one on fire, and tedious to hunt down a lake every time you used it. Could be a potentially cool action or puzzle game in here.

thanks! :D

I liked the concept it was interesting to drag one of the players around and use him as a weapon. I did feel like there was a lack of water in the map so a lot of the times when I set him on fire to attack enemies there would simply be no way to get him to water in time after fighting the enemies. I did really like the creativity with thew art assets though, those blue trees made using a mashup[ of several sprites were really cool and some of the other mashups were fun to see as well. I'm not sure if you know or not but from where you start in you can't read the left edge of the text but it didn't take very long to figure out you move with arrow keys so that wasn't really a big issue. Overall it was a fun concept and I enjoyed playing around with the character who could catch on fire, but it definitely needs some work. Nice submission though I did enjoy it!

This was cool idea but needs work in a few areas. Like I had no idea how to put out Miz at the start, having a puddle of water there would've cleared a lot of confusion as it took me while to find a pond. I also had no idea that I could use the arrow keys to move which could've been included in the text at the beginning or the details below. Nevertheless, it was an interesting core concept that I'm sure with a bit of tidying up, could be a great game!

well it definitely needs work. there isn't enough water around so whenever I try to go on the offensive I die because it takes too long to get back to water.

Some of the fires didn't work to light up miz and there didn't seem to be a final objective I could figure out other than kill all of the enemies before they kill you.

One thing that might have helped is if there was a compass or indicator that showed where the closest water was while you were on fire.

The concept of the mouse as attack and keyboard as defense was neat it just needs to be fleshed out.

I don't even know what to say.... I have no idea what I just played LOL. I died three times before I figured it out. It's a very unique concept that I think could be further developed for sure.  I totally believe we need more creative minds in the game industry, so keep truckin' fam!

thank you :D i am not sure if it is bad if you do not know what you just played though

Nice concept overall. Though there is room for improvement. When I first began to play your game, I didn't know what to do exactly, so the tutorial needs to be more clearer. Some sprites are not properly layered. The feedback when getting hit from enemies was good, but could be improved to, e.g. by adding a screen shake. I also feel like the controls should be changed, instead of having to use arrow keys, it would've been much better to use WASD keys for moving MIZ. Other than that, good job!

Developer

thanks i will keep your comment in mind if i work more on the game :D

Interesting concept! The scaling for webGL was off so I had to expand it across both my monitors and the water wouldn't douse the fire, but I'm not sure if I was doing it wrong. Overall, this could be cool if developed and refined further.

Developer

thank you so much :D hope you liked it

Unique concept, and the spries have a cool effect with how they are not a solid color.
