Such a cute game! I laughed quite a bit and enjoyed the tone you all set with the combination of the writing and dialogue :)

Developer

Thank you for playing and thank you for streaming it! Glad you had fun :)

I really enjoyed this! The writing was fun, the artwork was gorgeous, and the sound effects rounded things out nicely (especially the sighs lol). Great job!

Developer

Thank you! Glad you liked it!

Finally someone who understands where pineapple on pizza belongs.

It's a sin and everyone should pay for it.

I mean it is pretty bad.

Honestly, absolutely fantastic!

I personally really like Dante Alighieri and the Divine Comedy, so coming into this game I was very curious how you'd approach this.

And then the very first line of the game is “I can’t believe I got lost in the damn Dark Wood.”

And that was it. From that moment I was absolutely sold.

A great parody, full of silly moments and jokes, and how it still referenced the original with the different scenes and setups added some great value to it. The illustrations add a lot to the joke-y tone of the game, and your representation of Dante was especially good.

I also liked being able to click on keywords to advance the story, it gave a good feeling of interaction.

Very awesome!

Developer

Thank you so much for playing and I'm really glad you enjoyed it that much!

This was great. Super funny and the parody was such a nice idea.

I appreciated how I was mostly able to explore all the options presented to me, for example in being able to look behind every door at the end.

I'm not sure what can be done in Twine but the images took a while to load. They shifted the text once they loaded in, which looked at bit janky and required me to scroll down.

Developer

Hi! Glad you enjoyed it!

There is probably some way to make the images pop up better but we kinda learned Twine these few days so there is for sure room for improvements.

Thanks for the feedback and thanks for playing!

I loved this! It was fun to play and even though other comments found the sudden sounds jarring they would make me laugh a lot! The sounds from the fish had me cackling. The story was interesting and the art was so perfect.

I had a lot of fun, thank you!!

The circle is full of pizza…with pineapple on it. People are screaming while eating it. It’s a disaster.

Hilarious.

For me, it felt more like I was reading a story than playing a game.

Developer

That's truly what hell is ahaha

We tried to make it as interactive as possible but it was our first jam and we didn't want to overwork ourselves too much!

Thank you for playing!

This was SUCH a joy to experience. We read it all together and did some different voices for Virgil and Dante (and the Sourceres! xD) and had a blast!!

You really really nailed the comedy with this story. The modern esque take on dante's inferno really works, and "Tom" just makes it 10 times better!

I was especially impressed because I'm usually not too fond of twine stories since they don't feel interactive enough, but you really made it work by adding the periodic images!!

The only thing that felt a bit off to me is the audio. I feel like it needed to be a bit more consistent... the sound effects seemed a little jarring because there was no pattern to their appearance. I think the game might maybe benefit from either more sound design, with consistent sounds that really help bring the story to life... or maybe no sound design but instead music and maybe voice acting!

Aside from that, really enjoyed this game! And extra bonus points for the incorperation of the PIZZA LOVERS THEME!

though I was a little surprised not to see Ketchup on Pizza in hell...

Awesome job with this! Keep up the good work!

Sasha thank you for the kind words!! We all appreciated them!

Honestly we learned twine in these 5 days and audio was the thing that gave us so many problems so there is for sure room for improvements

damn my brain didn't even think about the possibility of people putting ketchup on their pizza

Thank you again for the great feedback and thank you for playing!

GOOD

Haha! Felt like I was reading a children's book written by Deadpool (weird, right?) :D

Some feedback:

  • I believed you used Twine, correct? I don't really know if Twine has that feature, but at times, when I clicked, I didn't notice that text had expanded below the current on-screen text. But that's a minor thing.
  • The sound effects were fine at some places, but not at other ones :( It took me out of the experience, as I would rather read visual-novels and text-based adventures than listen :)

You went for a story on a (literal) epic scale! Good job! :)

Developer(+1)

Yes Twine! There is probably an option but we kinda learned how to use twine in these last 5 days so there is a lot of improvements that we can make in the future! Thanks also for the sound feedback, I appreciate that :)

Thank you so much!
