Oh. That's great storytelling. So well-written, and different font colors for imagination and dark reality work very well. The story really makes you feel bad for Sadie and get the message :c
I really liked how you've shown the characters. In some parts it feels like the unicorn is a separate character, and we gladly choose soothing and warm words to cheer Sadie up, in other parts it starts to feel like talking to yourself. And those changes are shown quite well.

In my opinion this project really doesn't need any graphics or audio, but I was a bit confused how to rate those aspects for the jam, eheh.

Overall, wonderful narrative part, good message, sweet main character with sad story. You've done a nice job!

Ow. Poor girl... You did a great job slowly revealing all these awful details over the course of the story. The fact that it's only text is very fitting in this case, it stresses the emptiness of the flat even more. And it makes the image at the end quite powerful.

A really well-made  entry with an important message.

An interesting lens through which to view a difficult topic. Good job!

It's a cool story, but with audio it would be better. Not sure it's magical realism.

The story is great, it kept me engaged and made me very emotional! A bit of music or just ambience sounds could've stepped up the game, also as much as I did like the story, I don't really think it's magical realism. I loved the final image, it's very cute. Congratulations on making this game :D

Pros

  • Really well written plot and character(s).
  • Very sad and crude, but your approach to the topic was very good. It made me feel really sorry for Sadie.
  • Even though there are no images, you can still picture the situation and you can actually see yourself in the shoes of the main character, watching this cruel world through her sad memories.

Cons

  • I guess the lack of music was intentional, but some emotional or sad music would have been a great addition to make the story feel even more emotional.
  • I'm not sure if the plot would qualify as magical realism as I felt it leaned more toward imagination and fantasy rather than magical realism.

Overall: a short and simple but very emotional game with a really well written plot, that makes you feel really sorry for the main character. Great work!
