The visuals are stunning ! But unfortunately, I wasn't able to read a single line, every ui was under the visuals :(

It's a shame because it sounds very interesting ! But it's an amazing work !

Thank you for the comment. Yep, we know about this problem with UI. It appeared after the export and we didn't have any time to fix it cause we uploaded the game in last minutes before the deadline :c
We'll upload fixed version as soon as possible. Glad you still like the visuals and the idea :>

Pros

  • Fantastic visuals and aesthetics, the character designs are absolutely amazing!
  • Very catchy and fitting music!
  • The maps and backgrounds are beautiful! It's a mix of nostalgia and melancholy.
  • Very well written characters. The world felt very much alive!

Cons

  • As others have mentioned, there are some problems with the font and the UI, At times, I wasn't unable to play because of these problems. But this is a game jam so it's perfectly understandable as game jam projects always have some bug, we all go through that.

Overall: despite the text and UI problems, it's a great game with a lot of potential and stunning visuals! Amazing work!

Thank you for such kind words! Happy to hear you enjoyed the atmosphere. The dialogues were written in a hurry, so wasn't sure if they felt natural and revealed the lore. I'm glad that you liked how the world and characters are. (And yeah, sorry for problems with the font and the UI, we wait for the jam's end to upload fixed version. And maybe we'll continue working on this project to show the rest of the story, hehe)

Thank you again for the feedback :>

It's sad that the UI broke, cause the game sounded very interesting and the art style is quite unique and cute.  Apart from that, the dialogue takes a long time to advance and makes the gameplay really slow, I hope you can implement a button to go to the next dialogue and get to fix the UI in order to properly enjoy the idea you had in mind for your game :)

Developer(+1)

Thanks for feedback! We'll upload fixed version, and I think we'll try to do something with the dialogues as well.

Looking forward to it! Good luck :)

Sadly, the speech panel disappears behind the  environment. I could get through the first conversation because I was able to move away from the house, but the second interaction looked  like the game had frozen until I realized that there  had to be a conversation going on  behind the level graphics.  All I could do was blindly press Enter until the character could move again, but without being able to read the conversation,  I haven't got the faintest idea what I should do next.

Such a pity,  because  the story  idea sounds very promising and the graphics look beautiful.  I'd love to give this game another try after the problem with the hidden  UI was solved.

Thank you for the comment!
We've added a short instruction how to proceed the game, if you'd like to see. But it becomes more and more raw, eheh.
Very glad you like the graphics and the story idea. We'll work on the game and upload the fixed version when the jam ends~

Aw man, the description sounded so cool, and the art looks pretty sweet, but I can't read it. The font is difficult to read, the color contrast makes it difficult to see the font against the background, and sometimes the dialogue box is even obscured by objects/the background. Not to mention that the words have a frustrating mix of auto-advancement and button advancement that makes it feel really slow.

I was disappointed not to be able to finish the game, because it looks really cool. I would love to see an updated version that is readable! :D

Oh, thanks for the comment. We were questioning ourselves if the font was alright or if we should change it. Okay, so the change it is :D
And yeah, the UI got cursed during the export, eheh... (so we've even added a short instruction of what to do to play the game)
Also thanks for mentioning frustrating mix of auto-advancement and button advancement, we'll work on it as well.
We're going to upload fixed version when the jam ends~
