Love the combat mechanics! Really enjoyed it.

very nice dungeon crawler.
I especially like the action-like combat where you have I actually hit the enemy and avoid his attacks instead of just selecting actions from a combat menu
I would have preferred if the enemies used a similar attack system to the one used by the player.
The enemies attacks could have used a little balancing since for ex. the ray attacks of the 2nd enemy type you meet are way more difficult to avoid that the bullets of the the initial enemy type.
Great job!

Thanks for trying out my game. It would be nice if you could shoot bullets at the enemies in kind, but I'm not too good at pathfinding to have them dodge — and I wanted to have battles fit the "Fast and Slow" theme of the jam, with slow RPG decision-making punctuated by intense bursts of dodging. I have seen a few players say that the Laser Orbs are too tough to dodge for how early they show up, so if I come back to this game in future, I might tone them down.

What engine was this made in?

Just wondering

I used Game Maker Studio 2.

Bruh, I use GamerMaker Studio 2 aswell! I also use Construct 2 and 3

Amazing game, it's perfectly balanced, intuitive, and unique. I don't think it could have been made any better. Awesome game!

Super cool game! very polished and coherent. I love the different enemy types and movement mechanic. Definately work on this game after the jam! I'd love to see what comes of it. Well done!

I don't think I can say anything negative about the gameplay loop but it could do with some background music.

The gameplay is fairly polished, and I'd honestly see myself playing the game even after the game jam is done.

Wow this game is great! I only played a little bit but it is already really fun. The battle system works really well and is fun and the art is great as well! The second enemy is so much stronger than the first one I keep dying to it lmao. It would have been cool if the story written in the manual was somehow implemented in the actual game but other than that this game feels really complete and polished.
