Nice! I've played that chrome dino runner game a lot and this felt like a great implementation of that idea. Would have loved to play this on my Nokia back in the day. Nice touch adding the variable jump height and day / night cycle. It would be great to see a few animations added, maybe a little flap for the penguin jump and something when you hit an obstacle. Great work!

The presentation slowly grew on me as I played again and again, well done!

Very fun game. I had some issues on keyboard getting the hold to jump higher mechanic to work. But the gameplay is really smooth, good job.

Developer

Thanks for the interesting feedback! We developed it primarily for keyboard  so I am clueless  as to what could have caused the issue hahaha.

Fun little game! I like the randomness of the level generation, how did you do that? Did you create small obstacle scenes that are then randomly placed ahead of the player?

Developer(+1)

Yeah it's multiple obstacles, each with a collider that when the player collides with spawns another obstacle

Nice simple idea I like it. Very easy to use and keep going although I do wish there was a little more but overall nice job!

Very simple high score game, I like it! Little criticism here, I could be wrong, but I believe the music and sound effects are overlapping, which if that is the case, is not something the Nokia was capable of

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! We used a modified version of the audio manager provided in the godot sample project for the jam to try and ensure there are no overlapping sound effects during scene transition and. When an effect plays the music is stopped the sound effect plays and the music is resumed from where it left off. Due to the modification of the music resuming from where it left off (rather then going silent) and the short length of the sound effect it may make it sound like the sound overlaps but I think our implementation means it shouldn't 😀.  Maybe there is an edge case we never encountered but hopefully this provides some clarification!

Made it to 1355!

Nicely done. A classic format with a pleasant backing tune which even switches with the day/night cycle!

Developer(+1)

Glad to hear you like it, you may have the world record hahaha
