Aahh the movement with the ripple effect is so satisfying, looks and plays great!
Very nice! Fun little game with some great details. I particularly liked the water effect around the boat, once I spotted that I just had to do laps in the boat to enjoy it. Good work!
Thank you! I spent a while working on it without the ripple effect and it just felt flat, so I'm super happy I got it in. Glad to hear you liked it too! :D
Great game and opening music. The 1 hit kill whirlpool is OP. But I guess it's needed since the game might go on forever. The itch cover has grid lines but then the game doesn't. Not sure which style would feel better but might be good to keep it consistent. Lastly, the player can't hit any ships but the enemies can pass through each other. The water effects are like magic. Good job!
Thank you for the feedback! I do agree the whirlpool is kind of OP, so I'll probably go back to nerf it. I did actually want to have icebergs break off into smaller chunks when they hit each other, and for large icebergs to completely crush smaller ones. And I did actually try to put the effect used on the itch cover in the game as well. I just ran out of time unfortunately, so none of it really got added. I'll definitely go back and add it ones the voting has concluded though! :D
Indeed fun to play
Good job mate
A nice high-score-based game, I liked the cyclone/vortex mechanic, it made the game a lot more interesting because along with dodging ships there were now whole areas that had to be avoided. Good job!
Nice dynamic on the game! you really feel the boat moving on the sea, while it's only few pixels turning on/off!
On a side note, it tooks me 10 seconds to understand that the title animation on the page is NOT the actual game, but you need to scroll down a bit 馃槀
Thank you! And yeah I definitely see what you mean about getting confused. Whoops! I'd like to go make some clear separation at a later date. 馃槄
I encountered some bugs whilst playing the game, where I hit "Space" or "Enter" after the ship is spawned, the game goes into a black screen. There's no issues if I used Arrow Keys to play it, only the keys I mentioned above. Great art and a fun game nonetheless!
Oh Geez! Yeah I went to recreate the bug just now and that's certainly not supposed to happen. I'll definitely take some time after the rating period is over to see if I can track it down. But thank you for playing!
