Rogue-ASCII-graphics has always struck me as dark and desolate, so it's satisfying to see a game world that reflects that. The audio work on the voice reminded me of the Reptilian Brain in Disco Elysium - and being reminded of Disco Elysium is always wonderful :)

I was pretty fascinated by how the turn lengths seemed to vary? Like, I could sometimes outrun the X'es? Kind of turning the turn-based rogue-structure on its head :)

Developer

Glad you liked it! The enemies and how they react to turns is completely broken, we had our hands full with the procedural generation of the levels. Probably should have rounded off the gameplay a bit more :)

Nice music and voiceover (albeit with some mispronounced words XD). Would be cool to have some interaction with the X's - right now I figured out you can just walk through them....  but in any case it is nice that it's not about fighting, but about navigating and exploring. Perhaps you can attempt to trick the X's with strategic teleporting, rather than kill them or whatever...

Developer

Thanks Horatio. Yeah, we did not manage to implement the X's interacting with the player more than chasing. We were definitely considering some non-violent gameplay, though :)

Make it happen!

Scary audio, which manages to make the X enemies scary and the tension high. However there is a lack of gameplay, which boils down to walk around and get nourishment/potions. It feels like there should have been something more, that I might be missing. But the style does bring back some nostalgia.

Love the Dwarf-Fortress ASCII art aesthetics, I think they add a ton to the game!

The audio is great (especially the deep voice) and the art style quite unique, but I did not really enjoy the gameplay that much, since you just walk until you starve. The enemies seemed to do nothing too, they might've added some more nuance to the game.

I really liked the artstyle! Reminded me of Dwarf Fortress :-D

Wow the artstyle is amazing! I didn't really know what to do, so I died after walking around a couple of times. A tutorial would be nice.
