Very fun gameplay! My only problems with the project are that the player/enemy crosshair difference would be really difficult (maybe impossible) for a colorblind person to spot, and the green crosshair is hard to see as-is. Great job still

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing! you're right about the crosshairs, if this was a bigger project I would definitely have worked more on that!

As others have mentioned cool mechanic.
Achieved victory in Antarctica :D

Something that felt odd to me is that the white water splash was in front of the ship rather than behind it.

Developer

Congrats! and thanks for playing :)

Oops, just noticed the water splash after reading your comment, been looking at it for too long to notice I think 😂

Nice! I liked the slow turrets mechanic, where you can manipulate your enemies' weak points but have to watch out for your own. The ice graphics seemed to be lacking though, being just single-color tiles. Still, overall, great game. :)

Developer(+1)

Thanks for your comment, happy you liked it! it's true that the ice looked a bit bland lol

Interesting idea - very unique take on a shmup.  Definitely not a mechanic I've seen before.  I wish the camera followed the ship a little more closely though - it's easy to run blind into an enemy.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! It's true that the camera could be tweaked a bit, didn't notice it while playtesting since I knew exactly where all the enemies were 😄

Nice game! Took me some time to figure out a strategy based on the slow rotation of enemy turrets :) Would have been nice to be able to destroy the laser turrets too! Yet to get past level 4. The ship damage shown through graphics was a nice touch. The music sets a good battle feel. Good work overall!

Developer

Happy you liked it! Agreed for the turrets, they actually were destructible while I was testing but I turned it off as it made them really too easy to deal with (had a bit of trouble balancing them 😁) Thanks for the kind words!

I like the level design, it's tricky to fight in close areas and sudden turns from enemy ships make it a little hard to strategize sometimes. The laser turrets are pretty hard if you approach them at the wrong angle.

Developer (1 edit)

Thanks for your comment! You're right about the laser turret, I tried to make them more balanced but somehow they were always too strong or completely useless lol

Really neat control scheme! I loved menuvering around to try and get both shots off onto the enemy ships at a distance. I think I need a bit more practice to discover the secrets of Antarctica

Developer

Thanks for playing! I'm sure that one day the secrets of Antarctica will be yours!
