That is a really cool 'fat cats get their comeuppance' tale. I could see this as a sort of Oceans Eleven style heist series in the making. Hopefully the rats liberate their wealth from the patrons first on their way to 'discuss terms' with the Hives below.

Really well-written. I loved little details like "tail-curling" as a rat phrase, too. Nicely done!

I really enjoyed this story. You came up with a great premise and wrote a clear and satisfying conclusion. I think it suffered a little bit from the word limit, though - some rephrasing and cutting could have given it more room to breathe.

Interesting story, but I feel you fell into the same trap I did and did not realize how short a thousand words are. I liked how instead of just being weird things bad, it played on our own bias. I will say next time you write I would read it out loud and that will help with the flow a bit more.
