Description
Genre - Orchestral/Library Music
A primary inspiration for this OST is The Simpsons Hit & Run.
Each track was composed in Reaper mostly using Kontakt libraries such as the Spitfire series of woodwinds, strings, and brass, as well as Symphony Series Percussion. Other non-Kontakt plugins include Roland Zenology and Ample Upright Bass and Semi-Hollow Guitar.
The tracks in the game are a mix of cutscene and gameplay music, with “Supermarket Sprawl” and “Secure the Plywood” being gameplay themes, and “Honey I’m Home” and “Christmas Wish'' acting as cutscene/interludial themes. “Secure the Plywood” operates as a hectic driving track; “Supermarket Sprawl” a rather buoyant indoor level piece. “Christmas Wish” is an introductory piece briefing you on your journey, and “Honey I’m Home” operating as, naturally, a theme for when returning home and for household cutscene dialogue.
Theme:
How does it fit the theme?
This OST takes the theme "Wish upon a star" quite figuratively, with the primary objective being to fulfill the wishes of others. In this case, you are the star in your loved ones' eyes as you fulfill their wishes.

The secure my plywood piece is absolute GOLD
I love how theatrical these pieces are, but ESPECIALLY that one. It caught me off guard, that audio in the beginning made me laugh out loud these were all such a adventure to listen to
Awesome awesome work
Christmas Wish: This theme feels quite jovial and takes many twists and turns that feels like a dialogue in itself. The flute and bassoon tradeoffs in the melody feel like possibly the two main characters of the game. This would fit a cut-scene very well.
Honey I’m Home: This is a very creative use of the main motif and turning it into a minor version. I am curious what your interpretation of the final solo piccolo means in this piece?
Secure the Plywood: This sounds like something that would be taken straight out of the Simpsons, especially with those dissonant brass hits, the playful melody, and the bouncy bassline. I like the theremin melody adding some alien-like sounds. You can hear the comedy taking place in this track and the chaos that ensues just like from a cartoon.
Supermarket Sprawl: The chaos seems to continue into this track, but this time it seems a little bit more like the main character is content within the bustle. Similarly to how you might hear faint hints of different songs on the radio within a big store, the transition to very different-sounding styles kind of feels like catching glimpses of radio music overhead. I like the return of the Christmassy feel and ties your soundtrack together. Great work and thank you for sharing!
Wow "Secure the Plywood" is probably my favorite. You really threw in a variety of instrumentation along with the dialogue (nice inclusion of the rondo alla turca piece haha). Hm.. it was chaotically organized (in a good way) and flowed nicely together with a great blend + use of leitmotifs. Definitely can see that track operating as a hectic driving track. Great work on that one!
I could not help but feel that the theme was somewhat subtly Christmas related, and you went all out with it to great effect!
Such quirky tunes, haha. My favorite is Secure the Plywood. Exceptionally cartoonish. This could be in Ren and Stimpy, haha. I heard "Alla Turca" in there briefly. Totally unexpected but what a gem!
Supermarket sprawl is also hilarious. This could be in South Park.
Almost through with all submissions and this is definitely one of my favorite. Nice job!
Very fun orchestration! It must have been so fun to make! :D
Whoa Secure the plywood was a blast! Apart from the Simpsons inspiration it has it's own load of craziness, lots of stuff happening there! The whole OST is very unique and refreshing. One shouldn't judge quality on the cover (I admit your cover prevented me from clicking on it on the first days haha! Glad I finally came in)
Your composition is amazing on each track, and the audio quality is there! Definitely one of my favorite of the jam, and a very good surprise!
Thank you so much for this :)
Fun soundtrack! I'm a fan of the chaotic and meandering chord progressions, I think it creates a bit of a head-spinning vibe without seeming like its flowing badly or seeming too overwhelming (apart from the beginning of secure the plywood but I think it fits well, especially with how much of a banger it leads into). great work!
This soundtrack has a lot of 90s/early-2000s PC game energy. I love it! Great composition, well-chosen libraries and plenty of fun, mischievous energy. Great entry!
I know multiple people have already said this, but it really does hit the Simpson’s energy well! I loved that game, so it felt nice and nostalgic!
I can really hear the Simpsons inspiration. Amazing job with a really creative soundtrack!
I don't know how you did it, but you've somehow managed to perfectly capture Simpsons Energy™. Well done. Also, the start of Secure the Plywood is perhaps the greatest work of genius in history.
This music makes me really want to secure the plywood!!!!!! \(˚☐˚”)/ Great job!
Great work! I loved Simpsons hit and run as a kid and definitely hear the influence. You've made a cohesive soundtrack that's hectic, goofy and charming, nice job!
