Description
A mostly electronic soundtrack made in Logic Pro X. I wanted each track to sound kind of like it takes place in outer space, but each track also has a more specific theme based on a specific wish that it represents.
On late nights in July when you have nothing to do the next day, you like to strap your beat-up kayak to the top of your car and drive down to the lake behind the backroads and the woods. You always seem to catch more fish at night, perhaps because there aren't any other people around. However, the real reason you come to the lake at night is that when you cast your line into it after sunset, you have an ever so slight chance of catching a fallen star. If you hold one up to your ear, you can hear the wishes of the people who saw it fall from the sky.
1 - Weightless
"I keep telling myself that I just need to make it through the week and I'll be fine, but now it feels like every week is like that. I wake up every morning and feel like I'm being crushed by a million pounds of stress. And then I walk into work and I have to deal with these people who act like they're weightless, like they don't care about anything, but in a good way. I wish we could trade places, just for a day, so you could see what it's like."
2 - Library of Lost Dreams
"Don't you hate it when you wake up from a nightmare or some crazy dream and just immediately forget all the details, and you just sit there at the foot of your bed for, like, five whole minutes trying to remember what happened? A lot of my art is inspired by dreams, so it really sucks when I know that the dream I just had would make a great piece but I can't even remember it. I've tried using a dream journal, but it just isn't working for me. I wish I could go to, like, a library of every dream I've had and just flip through each of them looking for good ones."
3 - Echo Chamber
"It just feels like people don't listen to me, you know? Okay, I mean, obviously you listen to me and vice versa, but we've known each other since forever. When I'm at work or with a big group of friends or something and I make a suggestion or tell a joke, it's like nobody even notices, but then it's too awkward for me to repeat whatever I said in case they actually did hear me the first time and they just ignored me. I dunno, maybe it's just because I don't really have a loud voice. I wish my voice was deeper or it echoed more or carried more or something, but I mean, it's not like there's anything I can do about it."
4 - Tunnel City Pop
"I'm telling you, I'm gonna be a star one day. I'm not going to give up. I just wish my parents would move back to the city and out of this nowhere town. No matter how much talent I have, no one will hear me all the way out here."
Theme:
How does it fit the theme?
The "game" is about fishing up fallen stars from a lake and listening to the wishes that people made as they fell.

Weightless: This is a really fun track! Great groove in the percussion and bass with excellent chords in the brass synth. The melody is fun and I like the variation with the DJ-like effects. The chimes add an extra layer to the weightless quality. The improv solo halfway through the piece adds to the quality and performance value for me. Great job with this one!
Library of Lost Dreams: There are so many interesting sounds going on in this track! This is such an interesting concept of having a library full of dreams. The eclectic nature of this track definitely captures that feeling of having a place full of wonderful and partially-baked ideas.
Echo Chamber: The mixing is well-done in this track, especially with the trading panning. This is a relaxing and psychedelic track that I could listen to on loop for hours!
Tunnel City Pop: The name is aptly selected – this is a very poppy track! It’s quite catchy and very well-produced. Nice job! The idea of fishing for wishes is very creative and would be a fun game to play! Very nice work on this soundtrack and thank you for sharing!
Waw what a creative take on the theme. This hits so hard. The wishes are so relatable which makes the whole album feels grounded and the music takes you to another univers. I absolutely loved that harmonisation with the pedal note on "Echo Chamber" with the call back to "Weightless", this is so satisfying to listen to. This was such an amazing listening experience, you've created something really unique. Stellar job!
Fantastic job! You're tracks have wonderful production quality and are filled with fun and interesting sounds and jazzy lines. These are all very fun to listen to, great work!
These are some fun jazzy numbers! I like the approach you took on the story to get to these pieces, too. I really like the dreamy, echoey effect of Library of Lost Dreams.
Oh yeah these are all great! I was bobbing my head to the whole thing, except maybe parts of Library of Lost Dreams that had me wishing I could grab the good dreams and get out of there. It's a cool concept, and I would definitely be a little uneasy flipping through the pages of every dream I've ever had.
By the way Tunnel Pop is seriously awesome. Certification of hoodness goes without saying
Really liked this collection of songs - after listening to a number of other entries, they had a distinct sound that was immediately interesting and memorable. hard to pick a favourite track but I'd say "Tunnel City Pop' because of how cheerful and happy it sounded.
The pitch bends in Weightless make me think of Bee & Puppycat, I really like it! The synthy/brassy strings in the background that keep kind of going in and out totally give a weightless feel too. And the beat is sooo good! There’s so much action going on in this song, which makes it super engaging to listen to.
Library of Lost Dreams, that opening percussion unsettles me (in a good way??) and then the bells being so scattered makes me imagine all of the dreams just sort of…sparkling for attention, if that makes sense? It’s almost like a jungle. Except it’s a library!
Echo Chamber is my favorite of all of them, it feels so otherworldly! And then how the different instruments echo each other, it’s so fitting and it’s clear you had a very certain intention that you pulled off in the best way. How did you make those beats sound like that at the beginning?
And then Tunnel City Pop comes to tie an amazing bow on the whole thing! The way the song progresses, I really do feel like I’m traveling towards something.
Very creative how each of these songs represents a different wish, also I love how you incorporated the same recurring motif in each one, super good!
Weightless is such a nice, creative combination of textures. Library of Lost Dreams is so creative with all those percussive sounds. Echo Chamber is so dreamy and the i-bVI progression helps so much in building the atmosphere. This track is probably my favorite and it inspires me to work on atmospheres like this haha. Tunnel City Pop is groovy af. This is a phenomenal and creative OST through and through, great work.
"Weightless" is badass. Feels like a skydive followed by parachuting, but in the opposite direction.
I love the concept of your story, the idea of listening to the wishes from fallen stars in a lake is just so cool to me. Every track is a banger. I wish Tunnel City didn't close so early though, I just want some evening cocoa
ayyyyyy
Hey great music going as the first track starts! You've instantly won a fan ^^
There's a ton of interesting sounds in the second track, very good sound design giving this library of lost dream its dream aspect, it's spacey, ethereal and magic at the same time. Very good track.
A final word : the idea is simple but original and fun!
It was a super submission for me! Great job and thank you for sharing!
Really creative use of panning in Echo Chamber. Indeed sounds like echo!
