Description
"If I had to categorize this music style, I'd call it experimental electronic. It's reminiscent of the sound of music producers such as PinocchioP and Kikuo, minus the vocal synthesizers. A majority of the songs are between one to two minutes, with the final being just shy of three. There are four tracks total."
"I used Studio One 5 for production. Throughout the process, I kept track of which instruments I had already incorporated, which settings they had assigned to them, and which scrapped melodies I could potentially reuse in other tracks. I did this to ensure that all the songs within the OST sounded like they belonged together, because in this way, they had been formed with each other in mind."
- Diamond

"I wrote up descriptions for each track. Even though the album takes inspiration from Diamond's personal life, I thought it'd be cool to write vague prompts tied to their original concepts. Weird that they ended up from the other person's POV. Guess he's more the protagonist type."
- Seth

Dual Navigation (Track 1): A warm invitation to the surreal environment before you. The gap between realms welcomes you in its own unique way. Grow familiar with its intricacies as you fulfill your new role.

Internal Conflicts (Track 2): You're not the only one here. Your partner has other ideas about how daily functions should be managed. What starts as playful commentary devolves into tense discourse. Sure, they've been around longer than you, but why can't they accept the value of your perspective?

Prove Yourself (Track 3): A fight breaks out while you're in charge. You bounce onto the scene, positively matching the same intensity as the two perpetrators. It's your job to put an end to it. Your other half reluctantly watches from within your domain. This is your chance to show them what you've got.

Reconciliation (Track 4): You return to your serene world. You can already tell what your opposite is thinking when you enter and, while anxious about expressing their wrongdoing, they apologize for not believing in you. You meet them on their level, confessing that the way you went about the matter could have been handled better. You wanted change. They wanted to stay the same. What you really needed was compromise. And so, you put in the effort to find a happy medium.

Theme

Inside my world

How does it fit the theme?
"The concept of this OST revolves around my experiences as a gatekeeper within my plural system. Pluralpedia defines this system role as, "A gatekeeper is a headmate who controls switching, access to certain areas inside the headspace, or access to certain system members or memories. In gateway systems, this can also refer to a headmate whose job it is to watch over new system members trying to enter the system and either welcome them or deny them access." All of which, excluding the first aspect, has applied to me in some way or another. I used to be the only gatekeeper in my system, the one person who handled the situations requiring my duties as they came, but then Xavier split off from me and we were suddenly a sub-system. Instead of me always being there to keep everything in our system under control, I had to trust Xavier to do the same when he took over. This album is about total opposites attempting to maintain balance even when situations turn chaotic. The artwork portrays a more perceivable version of our sub-system's headspace. Hence, it's been named, "The Gatekeepers.""

I love your style! A kind of mix of retro synth wave, chiptune, a little space, magic and pure electronic madness! Cool!

Love the ARPs and synths, you've done a splendid job with those! That first track almost sounded a bit "Metroid Prime" but then it became a bit more relaxed and fun and bouncy to balance it out. Really distinctive, I like it!

I appreciate the use of that synthetic tom-like element in Prove Yourself, that whole track is full of rhythmic habits that I love to utilize myself. Super sick!

Very unique entry - definitely befitting of the experimental genre. I like how the synth work evolves and spreads outward, great use of stereo space to allow different layers to shine and to not clutter the centre channel. Speaking of the synths - I dig the choice of voicings and chosen patches. Some are a little out there but I think that quirkiness adds to it. Good use of counter melodies and some call and response in some of the tracks to keep it grounded where possible.

All in all a fun listen, and one of the more unique submissions I've heard. Good work, keep it up!

I liked the sound design in this, the ideas put into the tracks are creative and experimental.
Some of the melodies were a bit jarring though (the second track for example).
