Description
The OST is a classical, chiptune work that was inspired by the Mother series. I used FL Studio as my DAW and mainly fumbled around a keyboard until I had a funny idea. Song descriptions can be found below (as well as in the project)!

Taketomi Village: This serves as an opening song of the game played while Tsukiko explores her home of Taketomi Village. In Taketomi, many people use the coast and abundant fish to make a living. Tsukiko has a deep connection to the water and fish herself, as many of her ancestors were fishermen.

On the Water: Tsukiko walks the beach at night, as it helps to clear her mind. Unfortunately, this night she would be swept into water which is the catalyst for the rest of the game.

Underwater Waltz: A playful waltz, which plays as Tsukiko solves puzzles (among other songs). This serves as a reminder that something about this underwater world makes Tsukiko feel at home.

Tsukiko: The titular and final song of the OST. Tsukiko eventually meets a woman, fully robotic and almost alien in stature. Their meeting is filled with mystery, but also, love. Tsukiko feels a strong connection with this leader.

Message from the artist
This was my first-ever jam submission AND my first time fully crafting songs for an OST. Quite the challenge but I am so glad that I did it!

Theme

Picture theme

How does it fit the theme?
The main themes of water and bubbles are scattered throughout most of the songs. Also, the purple color of the picture really inspired the nighttime theme I also used quite a bit!

Wow. And the last track was great, my favorite.

The water sounds are just something, I want to hear more of that!

beautiful work. i think On The Water might be my favourite — love the calmness, the harmonies, and that soothing bass line

Tsukiko is also stunning, the mood in the second half is really really well executed and it goes great with your description of the events :)

Love the bossa-nova in the first track - the lead line is beautiful melodically and tonally! Beautiful soundscape in the second track. I love the contrast of the guitar and pad.

The reversed?? pads in the final track are so cool - the texture and tone is unbelievable. Huge fan of the chords you’re playing too! Well done!!

Thank you so much! I owe many thanks to smashing my hands on a keyboard and hoping for the best lol

Very nice soundtrack, I liked it a lot !
The instrumentation is very very nice (very Mother 3-like on the first track, which is always a positive), I also enjoyed quite a lot the relaxed vibes of the tracks.
Overall my favourite tracks would be On The Water and Tsukiko (the switch up at the middle of the track when you think it would be over is well done, I appreciated it a lot), so great job !

Thank you! I used many soundfonts from the Mother Series so I'm glad you can hear them throughout!

Nice work, and nice little bossa nova jam you've got there. I'll definitely slurp on a non-alcoholic tequila sunrise by the beach while listening to this.

For Taketomi Village, I recommend that you listen to where the rim/stick hit is usually placed in bossa nova (it usually offsets the listener by being almost constantly of the "straight beats" outside of the first one, that goes a long way to add some groove, and consider adding shakers/caxixi to insist on the headbopping feel).

Thanks for your feedback regarding the bossa style! I did put in some much needed research while I was making the track but Ill look back at some of your points when I (eventually) make another track that style!

Fun tracks to listen to with lots of weird (in a good way) sound effects that made the track really quirky and enjoyable. Good stuff !

The bossa nova rhythm in the first track has me sold. Nice orchestration in the accompaniment, and the lead flute sits well in the mix. The occasional bubble-sounding SFX is neat too - ties into the theme nicely.

I love the vibes in On the Water - great choice of pad. The acoustic dubbed melody is nice and the introduction of the minimal percussion was good to cement the rhythm. Nice wave SFX here - feels very organic throughout the track until the submersion at the end.

Underwater Waltz sounds great - good rhythms and cadence, and the choice of voicings here is great for a waltz theme. Having the bubbles sync up with the beat was clever and it sounds great in context.

Tsukiko may be my favorite of the bunch - the lushy, dream-like vibes at the beginning are so crisp, and modulating the tempo in that second section was a neat touch, along with having the lead square melody blur out through filtering as the wave SFX give way to the gulls. The full send into the old-school chiptune outro was great and returned to the roots of the underwater theme.

Great job, this was a fun listen - some cool concepts in here and the thematic SFX was placed well throughout. :)

Nice bossa vibes in Taketomi Village and the synthetic sounds of Tsukiko were awesome!
