Description
My first foray into an OST Composing Jam, or any Jam at all!
I tried to make these tracks sound as dreamy as I could to fit with the theme of this Jam: "Inside my world." This was made using Ultrabox, a modification of a free online music making tool called Beepbox. The process of making this was a bit tough considering I started late but I tried to make something sound "synthy" yet dreamy and "floaty" somewhat. I didn't do a good job in a lot of these but I am happy I got to submit these. My inspirations come from late 90s and early 2000s ambient tracks and some tinge of oldschool FM synth tracks.
The track "Dream Catcher" represents the intro of the game, setting up the story of the protagonist and his internal troubles. The track "Recollection" sees said protagonist lucid dreaming, and being prompted to choose a "sector" of the dream to explore. "The Dream" is a general theme song for most of the stages, representing the weird and mysterious locales that lie within your subconscious (PS: I wanted to add more stage themes but alas, deadline...)

Theme

Inside my world

How does it fit the theme?
"Inside my world" could mean many things, and I interpreted it as the world within your subconscious.

Okay... this was definitely a magical-space-retro chiptune that I enjoyed very much!

The panning of the sound in my ears is particularly curious..... It gives the soundtrack even more coolness and diversity! It's like I can feel something large-scale and fast-paced happening around me....

Thank you!

My favorite one was the first track. I think it captured the old school style the best!

This is a great soundtrack. Always fun listening to music in this style. I love the FM bass sound, it will never get old. Harmonically interesting the whole way through, and I loved the use of panning as a means of making it dreamier. And doing it on Ultrabox is very impressive, too.

Great work!

Old sound...I love it!!!!

Your music is really well crafted! I enjoyed listening from start to finish.

Which DAW did you use?

Awesome work 馃槃

I think it's great that you made the music in this software, I really didn't know about it. I think that sometimes using this different kind of software (as opposed to a traditional DAW) can lead us to experiment in more interesting ways with the instrumentation, or the music itself, as happens with trackers. A very interesting retro sounding OST. Very good job!

Really digging your music style, very dreamy and nostalgic. Good work :)

It reminds me of some 80s films about aliens, nice retro flavor, good work!

excellent chiptune work, i'm surprised this is your first jam experience.  there's a nostalgia to the melodies that lends a lot to the dreaminess, not to mention chiptune itself being a nostalgic sound.

very solid entry for you first jam! the arpeggios and pads do help create that floaty, ethereal feeling; recollections captures the feelings especially well!

These sounds have my attention in an iron grip and refuse to let go, I like how you use these overlapping electronic sounds and synth patterns to surround the user with layers of music to listen to. My mind bounces from analyzing the pads to riding the synth arpeggios up and down. Overall, a solid submission! :)

Love the sound selection you did for these tracks, reminds me a lot of Ace Attorney in some dream-like scenarios, or while exploring.  Really enjoyed the listen!
