Description
The imaginary game, calling it "Connecting Ideas", would be a puzzle game wherein the player is provided a prompt and is tasked with connecting together thought bubbles depicting objects/scenes/words related to the prompt. So for instance, if the player is provided the prompt "a place to bring an animal", the solution would be to connect a thought bubble showing a dog to one depicting a car in a parking spot to form "dog park".
Included are two stage themes and a "time is running out" theme.
I used FL Studio for my DAW. VSTs and 3rd party plugins used: Korg Triton, Korg M1, Arturia Pigments, Steven Slate Drums 5.5, Ample Metal R bass, Audio Imperia Nucleus, Minimal Audio Rift, Waves Magma Tube Channel Strip, Waves BB Tubes.

Theme

Inside my world
Picture theme

How does it fit the theme?
I interpreted the jam's text theme of "inside my world" to denote thinking to one's self. The bubbles in the picture prompt inspired the game idea of wrangling together thought bubbles.

So... The combination of electronic instruments (similar to the light version of acid bass), jazz and orchestral instruments create a cool atmosphere!

Stage 02 is my favorite, heh)

I REALLY love how inconsistent and chaotic this is. Its super fun and keeps my full attention all the way through. Definitely the most unique submission I've come across so far. My personal favorite is Stage 1.

Nice grooves and great inventivity!

This chaotic mess of an OST (in a good way) actually mirrors perfectly your theme! Great submission!

The start of Stage 01 has it all! absolutely amazing OST!!!

This is one of the few jazz osts I found in the jam, I'm glad that I found it!

That sounds really puzzly and elegant definitely! I like the loyalty to the "water/bubbly" vibe you keep all the time, nice one!! Really enjoyed the experience!

Stage 01: The delay on the secondary melodic instrument sounds like drifting bubbles which is a cool effect. I really like the jazzy quality of this track. It seems to change directions periodically with different rhythms and feels which I think would make gameplay really interesting and captivating!

Stage 02: This is a darker stage, but I like the energy that the drum kit continues to bring to this stage. The saxophone works really well here!

Time is Running Out! Theme: This is a very foreboding time is low theme. I love the half step up modulation that signals the last few seconds before time is up!

Overall: This is a great idea for a simple but fun game. I hope that a game developer finds this and decides to partner with you (unless you are also a developer, in which case you should totally make this game)! The jazzy nature of your tracks plays into the casual puzzle gaming experience and I think it was executed very nicely. Well done and thank you for sharing!

Stage 1 and it's many feel changes is wonderfully chaotic, I like it! Also did you by chance use an sc88 snare sample? I swear I'm hearing one in there :)

Developer(+1)

I used the Steven Slate Drums 5.5 vst for the drumkit (specifically the Deluxe Metal 01 preset). Not sure what snare they sampled, they just list it as "Snare OldZep SSD".

pretty good overall. The stage 1 was my favorite of the 3.

I really enjoyed these tracks filled with fun combinations of jazz and retro/electro sounds. Reminds me of early sonic games full of unique melodic lines and powerful synth basses.

Stage 01 has so many interesting sections that keeps the listener intrigued in where we're heading next. Stage 02 sets a slightly darker tone with a driving bassline overlayed with a classic brass synth. Time is running out! Theme envokes a sense of urgency with its repeated arppegios and tasteful dissonance.

Overall a very unique OST with some very fun stylistic choices throughout. Your game idea sounds super fun and your music fits the theme you chose well.

Great work! Really like that retro sounds and also the jazzy vibes. It took me back to my snes days, not only for the sounds but also for some of the chords progressions. Also I really enjoyed that you made bold choices in the composition, it gives it a special and unique character.

Really interesting jazz harmonies, it got spicy at times, but it was executed with enough confidence to sell it. The soundtrack is pretty maximalist, you really don't shy away from using complex harmonies or using many instruments at once.

As far as the mix goes, the separation of the tonal parts is actually good, which speaks to a good arrangement considering the amount of different things you have going on. My main complaint  would be that the drums get buried in the mix at times. For a mix this dense a spectral compressor like Trackspacer or MSpectralDynamics (there are other alternatives but I haven't been keeping up with them lately) would help a lot. You can use it to sidechain your kick, snare and toms to the  tonal instrument bus so that it only cuts specific frequencies when when they hit.

You bring up a very good point. Thanks for the critique!

I love the old school vibe!

Good work!

Read your description, and I believe you really nailed the style you went for. Something about puzzles and jazz makes them go well with each other. A well executed and on-point collection.
