Description
Genre: Electronic/Chiptune/Digital Fusion
DAW: Jummbox
Music for a dark, high-octane, sci-fi adventure game
Follows the story of the protagonist, a former freedom fighter, who finds themselves in the CRUCIBLE, a sort of sci-fi gladiator arena in which contestants are swarmed by dozens of cybernetic abominations, created by twisting the minds and bodies of innocents through cerebral reconstruction and mechanical disfigurement. Our hero uses their combat knowledge and cybernetic augmentations in an attempt to not only conquer the Crucible, but to destroy it from the inside.
STAGE1 - The protagonist fights the Crucible's seemingly endless waves of contorted, psychotic enemies,
STAGE2- Dashing through the freshly-made heaps of scrapmetal and fried circuits, The protagonist escapes the arena, slashing and shooting their way through security, desperate to find the man behind the Crucible.
STAGE3 - Finally, our hero reaches the villain's office. Behind the golden, ornate doors, is a dark, shadowy figure, as they get closer, they realize it's moving... It's him! Somehow even more malformed than his creations, The writing mass shambles towards you, ready to fight to the death.
MISSION_COMPLETE - You Win :)

Message from the artist:
Good luck to everyone who entered the Jam!

How does it fit the theme?
Loads of punchy gritty, glitchy sounds to match the cyber-dystopia the game takes place in

That glitchy section around 1:37 in the first track goes so hard (probably my favorite track just for that section). I absolutely love the combination of textures there. Second stage sounds more tense and I get the vibe of stronger enemies. The glitchy embellishment adds a lot of energy here. Amazing work overall!

Going in without reading anything :D

STAGE ONE - Interesting opening. So far, not what I'd normally expect from chiptunes. I like how you're constantly shifting the track in different directions in this one. It's in a constant state of flux. Cool glitching sounds everywhere. It's like we're tuning into this world.

STAGE TWO - From the music. I feel the enemies are getting more serious in this stage. Oh, love that thing you did with the hard panning. I really like how your soundtrack is constantly begging for attention by adding interesting little details, quirks and changes.

STAGE THREE - We're underground now, aren't we? Somehow the lowpassed opening sound makes me think we're somewhere far below street level and it's dark here. Second section makes me think there's some serious brawling going on. Really like the melody that kicks in approaching the end.

MISSION COMPLETE - From the soundtrack, I take it we won. However, now at the very end, some doubt kicks in. The very end sounded like it got a slightly unnerving twist.

Cool cover art too btw. It fits the soundtrack perfectly.

Great work!

Great job! Tracks two and three are super cool

All track are pretty hyper, but STAGE THREE goes through the roof. Such energy... good, good work.

Love your use of these chiptune synths, along with the stuttery micro-edits! Sets a really cool, underground sort of vibe.

Really enjoying your percussion and rhythmic lead lines too, lots of energy going on here, and fairly dramatic swings in tone! Your use of noise was also really tasteful, I appreciated that a lot.

Great work!

Just wow! I loved this! You kept it interesting throughout, with a constantly evolving composition and the panning work. Impressive submission!

Let's go! Very creative composition, I dig that there's always something going on. Imo it lacks a bit of mixing to bring it all together. The menacing atmosphere in stage 3 is very cool.

high-octane is right, I could definitely see this game making me sweat lol. I like it!

Great chiptune with a bunch of stuff going on, prime material for a cyberpunk game backdrop.

Really nice stereo work with the mix! The main riff in STAGE2 is really catchy! STAGE3 goes hard, starting with that bass intro! Bangers, all of them and with MISSION_COMPLETE as an adequate close-up!

I definitely have to look into JummBox now :D

This is super cool! I love the game idea you gave along with it. The third track is probably my favorite, it's super dark and cool sounding. Your last track almost sounds like you've won, but now you're turning into the boss you killed. Mission accomplished, but at what cost?
