Description
Looking at the art for the theme, I imagined the track for a fast paced action game with some stealthy elements, crime fighting and a good sense of humor. It could work as a main menu theme to represent the pace of the game, in a level or as the backdrop to a credit roll.

When I started there was just one thing I was sure of - that I wanted to write a fast track! The track started with the jazzy part in the middle, the metallophone, and piano, and then to build around it, the composition approach was to try and come up with a bassline, build pads around it and then go ham with the synth leads!

Genre: Synthwave with a bit of a bluesy influence.
DAW: Ableton Live 11

Woow it's really nice track :) I love it !! the use of efectors for the intro is interesting, and the music continues to develop with several different instruments. But it keeps a good coherence throughout this piece !  I really enjoy your music thanks :)!

thank you very much! :)

This is really great, I really enjoyed the part at 1:50. The shakers were a really great touch to the atmosphere and the synth lead afterwards was great. Melodies were great and kept me interested all throughout the song. Great work!

Also that bassline is awesome!

Developer

Yeah, I like that section a lot myself, thanks for the listening to the track! :)

An interesting approach to the 80s synthwave. A lot of tension going on together with some smoother sounds - it matches the description of your game quite perfectly. I'd see this in some game with a rather lighter context - like Sly Cooper.

Developer

Thank you!

I haven’t heard of Sly The Cooper, unfortunately, but I’ll definitely check it out now!

Love that 80s beat intro. Instantly cool. Really neat instrumental parts.  That jazzy part in the middle is really refreshing. The track kept my attention until the end. Make it loop! I could listen to this for a long time in game level. Excellent job!

Developer

Thank you very much!

Yeah, for the game files itself, i’d split these into sections and fire each up in the relevant situation, that was the plan in general, although in the process I just started having fun making it just as a track to listen to rather :D

This track sounds so light and fresh! Great rythm and riffs, and I love the choice of instruments. Incredible composition. Absolutely nothing more to say, I love it 😍

Thanks! Glad to hear :)

Really cool that you made something inspired by the art theme, it fits really well!

I absolutely love the more fun sounding approach you took, and the jazzy vibes are super cool. Amazing that you made this in just 48 hours! My favorite parts are at 1:28, as a pianist myself I also really like that you put some piano in there xD

Developer(+1)

Thanks a lot!

I have to note, that I’m definitely not a piano player, and most of that stuff is either heavily quantized or just straight up drawn in the piano roll, haha, but I love cool sounding piano riffs and I’ve been itching to write some myself for a while now!

Submitted (1 edit)

haha, the piano parts are still really cool, no matter if it’s quantized or anything xD

When I’m making tracks, I can only draw the midi notes even though I would probably be able to play some of it, but I don’t have a midi piano :(

Developer(+1)

Oh that sucks, I wish you’ll get access to one soon, that will make the process so much more pleasant!

Cool track! Really enjoyed the journey on this one.

Developer

Thanks for listening and the kind comment! :)

Love the blends of various sounds. It really feels like this track adds a ton of fun to any game it is added to. Good stuff!

Developer

Fun was the goal, although I was nervous to make a more “happy” sounding track, since cyberpunk is more or less a mainly dystopian genre. Thank you for your comment! :)

Oh man I love the synth that comes in at 1:07 and that entire melody line, especially any time it does descending 8ths. Seems like that would be a really fun guitar solo to play if I knew how to play guitar. The chord change at 1:28 and the ensuing progression are really great too! Melodically and harmonically this is awesome. I could listen to this on loop. Nice job!

Developer

Thank you very much for the kind words!

Up until a couple years ago I was just a guitar player, I didn’t produce yet, so the leads are very, I guess, “guitar-y”, if that makes sense :D

you've got some really groovy synth work goin on in here, i dig it!!

Thank you very much! :)

Cool! Very Jazzy. Love the sound of the synthes and the caracteristic bass, 80s all over the shop. Nice details with the congas and shakers, very stealthy vibes.

Developer

Thank you! :)

There're so many fun things happening in this track! Like enough to make a 2-hr movie. I really like how you lead the audience through a story (well, the one I imagined in my head) with that crazy melody and can totally see this track being used in a fight scene/highway racing scene. Great job!!

Developer

Wow, thank you very much for the kind words, I’m glad you liked it!

Nice track! I really like the old school drums and especially the jazzy part in the middle it brings a lot of dynamics to the song!

Developer

Thank you very much!

Yeah, it was fun exploring samples and history of older drum machines in this jam, and I was happy to find the Linndrum, mostly because of it’s tom sounds :D

I love the bass in this and the percussion, it fits the vibe so well. such a banger. Awesome stuff!

thank you very much! :)

Love the 80s vibe on that!

Developer

Thank you! Glad I achieved what I was trying to do :)

Love this classic synthwave mood it starts off with! And then that lead synth around 1:08 is perfection. The piano is a nice embellishment in this section and really helps make it catchier. And then the segue into jazz is brilliant. Amazing work!

Developer

Thanks for listening to the track! Glad you enjoyed it!

The blend of synthwave and jazz influences is really nice, and I liked how you slowly transitioned from leaning more into synthwave to leaning more into jazz in order to let each style shine through. I would totally play a game with this soundtrack in it.

Thank you very much! I’m glad you enjoyed it! :)

Listening as I'm writing.

Oh that's a great sound. Reminds me of early 90s action movies. I really love how in the middle, you defy my expectations a few times. It's excellent. Ooh love those little percs shortly before the two minute mark and wait ... what is this... woah. Cool. Sudden jazzy bits. Is this called infiltration because you secretly moved a completely different style into this one? Well done. Also, I like that we get back to the classic action vibe at the end to close it off.

Reading the blurb after listening, it surprised me that you started off with the metallophone part. That somehow makes it even more impressive.

Amazing work!

Developer

Thanks for the great comment!

I wanted to do regular synth music throughout and then, before I started working on the track, I was doing dishes, and then it occured to me that it would be fun to sneak in some 60s spy music kinda stuff in for no real reason, and that’s how the core idea for Infiltration was formed :D

So groovy! this track will be perfect in a cyber-racing game!

Developer

Oh I hadn’t thought of this as a racing game background, but now that you say it, yeah, that can work, I suppose! :D

Thanks for the kind words!
