Description
I recorded this during the first day and was aiming to make a bigger arrangement out of this, but got lazy/ran out of time.

I had a sort of introductory scene in mind while writing this.

The piano sound i used was the Noire Grand Piano for Kontakt, with some reverb and then compression and eq for mastering

Made in the Cubase DAW.

Message from the artist
Thanks for listening! Was really fun doing a shorter music jam after such a long time. All feedback/critique is welcomed!

Theme

Chronicles of the Azure Sky: The White Dragon's Melody
Picture theme

How does it fit the theme?
The picture and text themes gave me the feelings of reminiscence and contemplation, so i tried to give the same sort of feelings in the track.

I started out composing only piano music. It was terrible... I did not use any reverb or pedal, and I often just plugged in some random chords and expected them to work. Now I seem to have moved into the complete opposite direction: I rarely use piano anymore. Your song is simple and beautiful. It makes me remember that just a piano can sound amazing. A piano can sound soft, but also harsh; it can sound with reverb, or without. This inspires me to make a piano-only composition again! Nice entry, thanks for making it :)

To me it sounds like something that could be in a studio ghibli movie; great work, I think it sounds great!

Solid!

I like how your composition contributes to the ambience.

My only critique is that I would alter the reverb, and make it a little wetter/more distant.

Thanks! Totally agree with you on the reverb, i've had a bad habit of overdoing reverb so now i end up making things too dry :D

I spent a while finding the right plugin for reverb. Not sure what the picture is for that now, but using Neoverb has been the only one that I've really liked at the price point that I found for PC. Its still pricey, though some reverbs can get way pricier.

The problem with a lot of reverbs is that they get murky/dirty when they get too wet.

Very pretty composition. I love solo piano pieces. Great work!

Ahh this felt super nostalgic to me! Would really love to hear your full orchestration!

This is really pretty! I like the borrowed chords and the suspended chord resolutions. Really fits the image theme for me! The Noire piano is so nice

really like the composition, the bigger arrangement version could've been very cool

Thank you! I'm not that great at arranging/orchestration yet, so i bit off more than i could chew with even trying to start doing a bigger version from this in just 2 days (just for reference, even 2 weeks might not be enough time)

I don't know if the clicking was added intentionally or if it just a side effect of the chosen piano but I actually really liked it. Since the song is mostly piano, it added some nice texture.

Developer

It was a felt piano, so the clicking comes from the hammers hitting the felt. I personally like that kind of sound.
