Description
"Game" description: Angi is an angel. Luci is a devil. And today, they are destined to meet and have an extremely fateful encounter. They will be travelling from the heights of heaven and the depths of hell, all the way to Portland, Oregon. Which is actually only like, 2 minutes away? So they each must race through four 30-second, super-intense platforming stages. And when Angi and Luci get through them all, oh man, you better get ready, because it's gonna be a really epic encounter.

This is a chiptune soundtrack made in Dn-Famitracker, within the limitations of the NES/Famicom and the VRC6 expansion chip. The "game" is comprised of eight 30-second-long stages, divided between two different protagonists: an angel named Angi and a demon named Luci. They travel from their "two worlds" (wink) of heaven and hell towards each other, and meet in Portland, Oregon. As such, every main track in the game is a super-energetic, nonstop song that lasts just about 30 seconds to be synced up with the action on screen. Total runtime is 5' 31".

What each track represents is fairly obvious, but here's a rundown:

Who's Up Next? - Screen to select next stage (player can pick between which character's stage to play next)
A-1: Fall From Heaven - Angi leaves Heaven.
L-1: Get the Hell Outta Dodge - Luci leaves Hell.
A-2: A Bouncy Atmosphere - Angi falls through the earth's atmosphere, bouncing on clouds.
L-2: Purgatory Party - Luci travels through Purgatory, where everyone is actually just vibing all the time.
A-3: Extreme Snowboarding!! - Angi snowboards down a tall snowy mountain.
L-3: Are You Afraid of Dark Caves? - Luci escapes a spooky dark cave.
A-4: Portland, Fatefully - Angi races towards the meeting point in Portland. Medley of her other three melodies.
L-4: Portland, Finally - Luci races towards the meeting point in Portland. Medley of her other three melodies.
The Inevitable EPIC Encounter!!!!!!!!!! - Cutscene where Angi and Luci finally face off... and (SPOILER ALERT) Angi proposes to Luci. They're in love!

Theme:

Two Worlds

How does it fit the theme?
The two worlds are heaven and hell each character's starting point as they race towards each other. The worlds are emphasized by the different playable characters on two different paths.

big fan of the "yeah" sample in all the tracks haha. High energy, well composed stuff! The Dark Cave is my favorite one!

I am blown away by this level of compositional MASTERY! SO much energy in each track too, you went all out on this. Seriously incredible work. Personal fav is Purgatory Party. Those little bluesy riffs here and there.. like I'm actually mad inspired to pick up Dn-Famitracker myself (and probably give up after 5 minutes xd). Great work!!

I am STUNNED this was AMAZING!! Had me bopping the whole time!! And there's so many tracks too!!!
I love the sound design choices also, like Dark Caves was a stand out track in that regard!

I really enjoyed this album! Wish I can see the game! Great work!

Cool OST, but seriously, you should make that game, sounds like fun :D.

First I was afraid to listen to such a big bunch, but it was worth it :D
Crazy amount of energy in every track! Very well done!

Really bouncy old school cool chiptune stuff. Great beats and melodies. Stellar work!

Yeah, this is great. Sounds like a really fun Sega Genesis game. I like the tempo increases at the ends of the Portland tracks. And the super-compressed "go" sample throughout.  The tracks are all upbeat and fun, but they still have their own identities. Nice ominous buildup on the final track, with the twist happy ending.

The only criticism I can come up with is that the snare can be a little overpowering, particularly on those punk beats on the last two levels, but even that kind of adds to the charm.

Fantastic work!

Absolutely incredible work. There's so much joy and energy in all the tracks, I had a big smile on my face the whole time I was listening!

Holy moly! This was so friggin' cool, I agree with everyone else--this needs to be in a game. Just wow!

As everyone else have already said it, it sounds so fun to listen to and the game needs to exist because the music is so good and addictive :D!! They would be the kind of music that I don't mind hearing it looped infinitely whilst I play the game! I would think that this is the synth style game music that I'd go to for any classic pixel-art games that focuses more on the gameplay rather than just the graphics. Love them :)

I'm still a beginner, but oh boy the number of tracks that you pumped out during a short amount of time, on such quality... this has got to be one of the most impressive ones I've rated so far :D
