Message from the artist
Made for a hypothetical game that starts off inside a mysterious cave...

Imagine waking up inside a cave, with a low humming as the only sound that can be heard. Then, something opens up. Not a clearing—no, it’s something inside you that has awakened. Could it be your sense of wonder? Or something deep beneath the earth that has made its way in? Whatever the case, sooner or later, the way out will reveal itself. But will you still be the same?

The style is really interesting… you should add more layers of instruments from an orchestration perspective, and I think it would turn into a truly impactful piece. If I may offer some advice, let the strings section play for most of the time as a full ensemble (using violas, violins I and II, and double basses together). Try assigning the marimba to different parts with other pitched percussion instruments, like the celesta or glockenspiel. I think you should keep working on this piece because it has a lot of potential. Well done!

Thank you so much! I agree that the piece isn't really finished, and will certainly follow your advice for a later revision 🙏

Sounds great! The track feels like the start of a new and mysterious journey to me. I like that instruments have a lot of character to them. This was a nice listen!

What an amazing compliment from someone who managed to create such progressive chord progressions and melodies with white noise 😱❤️

Nice! I liked how it felt really clean, like there was a clear focus on one instrument at a time but also a build up over time that kept it dynamic and interesting with plenty to listen out for. Really fun to listen to. I liked the drum rhythm as well. great work! :)

Thank you! And I must say, I genuinely felt a chill run down my spine from the basses in your track 'Title Card.' Awesome frequency work!

Is that the BBCSO plugin I spy? Really nice work! It perfectly fits the environment you're describing and the palindrome theme makes for some great arpeggios.

Thank you so much! It means a lot to receive compliments from a composer who can make such a fun tune as Going Backwards 😱

Especially how you played with the tempo change!!

I don't know what this reminds me of, but it's such a familiar, fun and embracing orchestrated piece. I love the arpeggiated percussion, and the bass, the quick pizz. It's all so well put together. I love it.

Oh too kind! And in contrast, the calm piano piece you made for the jam made me tear up a little. Such a beautiful, delicate song 🙏

And yours! 🙏

I liked watching the video a lot as I could see visually the palindromic patterns in every piano roll!

I also liked the theme you went with and I think you nailed it! Some parts sounded a bit off such as the cello part at 58 seconds. It felt like the song stumbled over itself if that makes sense.

Overall though it was really nice!

Thanks for your kind words and feedback!! I agree with everything you mentioned and I think I should've slept on it a little longer before submitting 😬

Btw, I LOVE Relaxing Cabin, def my fav from your entry lineup 😍
