Have you checked that your GDD is publicly accessible ?
Yes

Is your game set to public on itch.io so we can see it?
Yes

Summarise your game!
You are a sentient computer virus that travels through nodes of a network infecting each one. Each node is a different file type so you jump between work documents, paint and game files. The levels will be grid based where you must use charge power to destroy data blocks, deactivate the firewall and kill all the antivirus in the level.

Controls:
-Space to charge up explosion power
-Arrow keys or WASD to move

Hold space to charge up with a choice between 3 explosion patterns. Antivirus must be defeated before moving on, you must destroy at least 50% of the blocks in the level. Firewall and antivirus sight ray will kill you instantly

Please explain how your game fits the theme:
The game fits the theme because you are a computer virus which is a kind of digital weapon, I had more grandous ideas about the user receiving pop ups about updating their software and the virus somehow interacting with them and destroying all the computers in the town so eventually it would become some sort of super virus .

Is there anything you'd like the judges to pay particular attention to?
I made the game alone and I spent a lot of time on the movement and charging mechanic so maybe some other things look neglected, but I worked really hard on this and I'm happy I finished something :) Thanks for playing!

Nice puzzler!

Right now, spamming the weakest attack looks like the easiest strategy, though, because of how fast you can spam it, and how long it takes to charge the bigger one - you'd be able to attack + move + attack a few times while you wait to make the biggest charge (which you even can miss). Adding some recharge time after attack, or limiting the attack counts, or even just rewarding somehow for bigger attacks could make it worth it.

But overall - great submission! Also like the sound work :)

Thank you so much for your thoughtful feedback!
I really appreciate your insights about the attack mechanics. It’s interesting to hear your perspective on the spamming strategy – balancing the speed and power was a struggle throughout and I was constantly thinking about how to pull it off and make it actually fun! I love the idea of introducing recharge time or a reward system for those bigger attacks; that could really enhance the gameplay experience. :) I’m glad you enjoyed the sound as well! Thanks for playing :)

Interesting game! I like how the protruding bit on the enemies can turn on a dime, forcing you to really pay attention to their patterns and behavior.

Developer

Thank you :) sometimes they can be erratic but the game needed a little danger haha, thanks for playing!

I think the enemy should bit a bit more predictable, right now it feels hard to hit them because i dont know where they are goin and they kill me. But it looks like you put a lot of work into the game!! Good job!

Developer

Yeah you're right! I think I playtested so much I just got used to it but now I'm looking at how random they are moving haha, will definitely take a look at polishing that off now there isn't a deadline :) Thanks so much for playing!

The controls feel good, I like the aesthetics of the game, particularly loved the last 2 level designs! Well done and congrats on finishing
