  • This game is SO good. The only problem I ran into is short bursts of lag during the last few minutes of gameplay, when the NPC count is at its highest. The idea is clever, the aesthetics are fantastic. Keep kicking ass!

Yes

Tell us about your game!
Clown Around is a first person game inspired by immersive sims. Go around and play pranks on the people throughout the level while avoiding guards. As people become more frustrated they will begin to take their frustration out on others as they spread the mood throughout the office. The game features stealth and suspicion mechanics, along with scripted interactions with certain objects in the level. The game also features dynamic music that increases in intensity as the security level increases.

Did you remember to include your Game Design Document?

Is your game set to Public so we can see it?

was definitely part of my top 3 games of the jam, fabulous

Making a 3D game on a game jam, it's always a huge feat. Congratulations, you got something going here!

Tripping the fun police on a banana peel I found in the garbage was such a highlight. Loved the environmental awareness and pure over the top silliness.

Absolutely charming, and dripping with that 90s Build Engine flair of quirky interactables, and oft pointless fiddly things to play with in a level. Love the weapon arsenal, it feels very Looney Tunes in tone, and similar to games like Spy vs Spy in execution. Bouncing around the halls of the office, tossing pies instead of trading rockets in some dingy techbase! Yes, that feels familiar, but quite different enough to stand on its own as quite a unique take on FPS. I had much fun spreading jubilation to my peers, even if HR wasn't too happy about the joyous parties, and many servings of cake.

With polish, time, and a few more levels, an absolutely standout 3D indie title! Would love to see more from this team in the future!

Fun game. Had me laughing the whole time even when I lose. Yeah this is how HR normally looks so. Great tutorial and voice acting for it. Really well done y'all.

I knew it. I knew this was gonna be good!

I mean, the tutorial. It's amazing. Honestly in a way the tutorial outshines the game, but that's what happens when you do such an incredible job on the tutorial!

It's beautiful. It's horrifying. It makes me grin. I do need to find out how to recharge the flower though!

Developer

Thank you!

The flower doesn't have a way to recharge unfortunately. Since it's a powerful tool that can hit multiple guards and keep the player from getting shocked, we opted to only give it limited uses with no way to recharge.

Thanks so much! We talked about having the water cooler recharge the flower and wanted the player to be able to fill it with bleach too as a secondary ammo type. We cut out the water cooler because of how strong the flower is, and the bleach didn't make it into the game due to time constraints. In the full game we're planning on having a lot more options like that though.

First off, I love that the tutorial is also the game trailer. lol. It didn't really show how to play the game control wise, but is a good introduction for the games goals. I had some very noticeable frame drops once all of the NPCs started walking around, but with so many animations its to be somewhat expected. I might recommend culling animations not within the view frustum though if possible. :D

I absolutely LOVED the art style and aesthetic. This style of 3D pixel art is one of my favorites, and most of the time you only see it used with dark colors and horror themes. Everything about this game was stylish, quirky, and just a fun light-hearted vibe all around. Excellent work! Perfect game jam length, and it follows the theme in an abstract and unique way! :)

Hey, this was fun. I've managed to hide in the fridge, so it's true to the genre! Design and graphics work very well for the gameplay. Sound effects are on point.
Would wish to see the score while playing and maybe some "spreading" of the "fun"

Developer(+1)

We wanted to put in a meter that showed how close you were to hitting the minimum score threshold for beating the day but had to cut it due to time constraints. NPCs will spread some fun if they're happy enough though.

Pretty good! Hahaha

10/10 Would get tased again
