  • While I found the concept you presented to be interesting from the description, I was a bit surprised that most of the gameplay was only completing puzzles. Besides the narrative of using scattered notes to tell the story--which is a nice concept--I can't fully say that I was immersed in what was written. For games that are set in dungeon-like areas, my personal experience leads me to think there would be enemies I'd have to avoid while learning whatever secrets have been left behind to then try and understand the story or mystery being told. And while I believe you did a decent job presenting both themes; where my interpretation of shadow feels like 'secret societies' and alchemy feels like 'combination' (in a slight roundabout way because of solving puzzles), I cannot say fully that I truly grasped the use of alchemy in your game. Overall, again, I think this was done quite well, I just feel I may have to try at it again to see if there was something else I missed during my first experience; to see if your interpretations of the themes were expressed more than I perceived. All the same, keep up the hard work.
  • I like the concept and the art you got going. maybe consider adding some enemies you have to dodge or something.

This was a fun game! At first I found the lazer mechanic a little bland, but when you started to ramp up the difficult of them it become a lot more fun. Don't be scared to challenge your players! I loved the little notes too, it's a cool way to tell a story.

I think I found a small bug with a box that has collision towards the end of the 1st level. I looked like I was supposed to move it to a specific spot, however I couldn't move behind it at all. I put an image of the part I'm talking about just in case its a bug you were interested in fixing

Great game overall! It was fun little adventure

Developer

thank you very much for trying out the game ^_^ The bug comes from notes not removing their collision when when you pick them up. This is just a skill issue by my hand as I couldn't figure it out in time and thought that it's ok to still have it in because it does not affect any progress in the game and hopefully does not cause any nuisance. I also do not know if we're allowed to edit the project after the submission timeline >_< - From main programmer

I love the title art. On thing I believe people are already very aware of "laser puzzles" I think you can ramp up the difficulty way faster! there where some very nice ones!

Player has to move a little faster, otherwise generally a solid little puzzle game

Thank you so much for trying out the game ^-^

Story driven games are not really my type but i wanted to give this a try because of the art style. The music and overall atmosphere impressed me so i made to the end of it. The puzzles started good but just one mechanic was not enough for me and it became a chore of just walking around trying buttons. The ending was cool and it surprised me. I think this a good game but it could've been better with some more puzzle mechanics.

Developer

thank you for the feedback and thanks for playing the game! :3

Loved the art and music. The difficulty pacing was all over the place. About two thirds of the early levels were so easy that they were just a pain. And then there was a couple of well designed, difficult puzzles in the middle followed by some easy ones at the end.

I also love the art done for the thumbnail and it should have been used in the game somewhere, perhaps when she’s reading the notes.

Thank you so much for playing the game! I completely understand were you're coming from with the difficulty, initially we wanted difficulty to not be an issue as I personally just close a gamejam where I am dying/restarting over and over again (it just doesn't feel the right place for a hefty investment, if it was a steam game I would think otherwise). I am personally really happy you liked the art and music as that was my biggest focus in this game ^_^

And thank you for the feedback on having a sprite when reading notes! I for sure considered it but due to lack of time felt like I needed to focus on other stuff. (this was my first time making a full game in godot therefore I did not know how much time each idea is going to implement - from main programmer)
