Yeah it’s definitely not fair. The phoenix was my idea of an endgame boss but of course it’s just the third enemy. The intended strat is to just craft a poison, craft enough potions to build your hp up to 10, then poison and defend through the phoenix fight. Once you’ve killed phoenix you’ve got all the materials to craft the end game item to end the run.

Thank you for playing. Yeah sorry, unfortunately it’s one of the limitations of the Pico8/Picotron - you can technically override their default controls but it’s kinda hard.

It’s meant to emulate an old SNES controller.

Use one poison then defend while he dies to poison.

You need bombs to fight and you only need to fight the slime twice(depending on rng) to complete the game.

Yeah the game was too short to have the enemies drop anything that wasn’t materials necessary to craft the endgame item.

Thank you. It’s inspired by a series called Atelier - very “anime”, but fun crafting based rpgs.

Really like your art and music, especially the title screen and victory card. image.png

Loved the intro cinematic. Loved the music. A bit simple but well polished.

I’m sure the game is great but I realised you can just spam jump and go straight to the exit…

I wish I could play but alas, on a Mac…😭

Yeah best looking game of the Jam by far.

Really fun. I was determined to reach bottom.

I’m curious, is there an upper limit on drilling speed? image.png

I need to come back and commit some more time to this one as I’d like to try beat it. Pretty cool idea. Game could almost be turned into a rhythm game.

The cash doesn’t reset when you die so easiest thing I found was to just grab as many gems as possible, die, and then gtfo. Loved the skele death sound. image.png

Thanks you. Wish I had time to do the UI and animations properly.

I got to wave 9, there seemed to be a bit of a difficulty spike - they started destroying the graves really fast after wave 8.

Liked the music and the game feel. For a more expanded version of this concept it would be cool to maybe start the player out with some slower zombies and gradually add in faster, stronger, ranged, whatever zombies.

Is this the right way to play lol. I think I bugged the game out and was only getting new zombie upgrades. I was invincible haha.

Actually fun though. Spawning and army of zombies to defend yourself is a cool concept. image.png

I could not figure out what to do once the dog runs away

Cool little game. I speed ran it. FYI, I don’t think the level is completely resetting after you die. The cage I broke on the second attempt was already broken when I came past in the second run.

I really like the art. I feel the movement is a bit janky though. Probably needs more friction and a faster acceleration (not top speed). Or do away with the accelerating movement and just use a constant velocity.

Loved this, very cute and polished.

I rubbed up against every wall, can you do anything or is the game just unfinished?

How to progress, how to “combine orbs”, etc

Cool character art. Levels are way to big and empty though.

Really enjoyed this one. I think these kinds of games benefit a lot from a speedrun mode with a timer that displays total time at the end of the game. If I knew the developer had set a 3min time for example I’d be tempted to do another few runs to try and get my playtime down.

Boss fight felt a little bit out of place but was good enough.

Nice work. Loved the art and music. Tight little game. Some of the UI like having to click the mouse sprite to get out of the intro didn’t make sense right away. Can’t go wrong with just a ‘Continue’ button.

I love it. Cute art work, well designed puzzles, pleasant music.

Super polished and responsive controls right up until potion throwing which felt really clunky.

I’m willing to give it another shot but i could not figure out how to get the third gem in the first level.

Loved the art and music. The difficulty pacing was all over the place. About two thirds of the early levels were so easy that they were just a pain. And then there was a couple of well designed, difficult puzzles in the middle followed by some easy ones at the end.

I also love the art done for the thumbnail and it should have been used in the game somewhere, perhaps when she’s reading the notes.

Cool, well made puzzles. Minimalistic art style but it’s clean.

This was great. The animations are all S-tier. It’s just a straight up fun game.

Awesome sprite work. I couldn’t exactly figure out what to do though. I only did 3 attempts but if it’s a procedural map, it looks great.

Well this is one of the higher production value games I’ve played so far. It’s great! Looks and sounds great - super polished. I was just kinda clicking around on things for a few minutes until I realised what everything did though.

I love him. At least I did until …well, you know. Short, sweet, well made - love it.

Okay, I did not expect a tough boss fight. Loved the art style. Did you really compose the music, it sounded fantastic and really suited the background art.

I’m a wee way off the world best run… image.png

Cinematic! Just straight up good work. Very creative and well polished.

Wow ambitious - this must have been a lot of work. Goes to show how capable Godot is these days. The second I realised the whole level was the giant Golem and it was moving and with the music as well my first thought was “epic”. Jumping and some of animations could be tidied up a bit as they’re just a bit rigid and lifeless, but that’s just because so much work has gone into other parts of the game. Great work.

I like the art style. Hard to figure out what was what and it was a little trial and error to figure out how it all worked but good work.
